Advocacy
On May 23, 2024, the PTA Board sent a letter to the District of Columbia Council urging increased investments in programs affecting J.O. Wilson for the 2024-2025 school year and beyond. Read the letter here.
Virtual General Body PTA Meeting on Tuesday, June 11, at 6 p.m.
On June 11, 2024, the PTA will hold the last General Body meeting of the school year, where it will consider a proposal to amend the bylaws to permit the Board to temporarily fill vacancies by Board appointment until an election can be held. Below is the language the Board will ask the General Body to consider:
Amending section 6b to read as follows:
"The executive board shall fill a vacancy in any office other than President through special election; provided, that the executive board may appoint, by majority vote, individuals to serve in vacant positions in an interim capacity. Individuals appointed to fill a vacancy in an interim capacity may serve for no more than 90 days from the date of their appointment."

Kindergarten Sneak Peek
Join us for J.O. Wilson's Kindergarten Sneak Peek on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 9 AM in the Commons! This event is a fantastic opportunity for Pre-K4 parents to meet the kindergarten teachers, learn about the expectations for the upcoming school year, and get familiar with the daily schedule. Don't miss your chance to get a glimpse of what the kindergarten day looks like and discover exciting developments for the next school year. We hope to see you there!

As DCPS launches engagement for the SY 26-29 calendars, DCPS invites you to submit your own calendar proposal!
