Girls Cross Country is State Bound!!
A massive congrats to the varsity girls cross country team who are state bound after competing in the District meet. The team consists of Ellsie Estes (4th overall), Lainey Garner (18th overall), Madison Felton (26th overall), and Sydney Lister (29th overall) who all earned All-District honors. Additionally, Kimber Surface (38th overall) and Kaylee Johnson (50th overall) with season bests, and Allie Mills (48th overall) with a PR. This is the second time in program history a team has qualified to compete in the state meet! Congrats ladies and good luck in Columbia!
Boys Soccer Moves on to District Semi-Finals
OHS Senior Breaks Single-Season Record for Most Goals
This week, OHS sophomore Brady Schupp has been selected as an Athlete of the Week! Brady has stepped up as starter this season for the varsity boys soccer team, according to Head Coach Zack Owens.
"He has had to step up into a starting role for us on varsity in absence of a senior and has done a phenomenal job," Owens said. "We are having one of the best seasons on record, and he has been a big part of that. It is great that he is getting this experience now because he will be looked at to be a leader for us next year."

This week, OHS senior Samantha Cowen has been selected as an Athlete of the Week! Samantha is a member of the varsity girls golf team where she helped the team finish second at the conference tournament with a score of 101.

This week, OHS senior Truman Griessel has been selected as Artist of the Week! Truman plays saxophone for OHS's Pride of the Ozarks marching band, and this fall he had a solo in the group's marching show "Weather the Storm," where he played the iconic song "Singing in the Rain." Last year, Truman was a member of the All-District Honor Band, and his saxophone quartet received a gold at the State Solo & Ensemble Festival.

This week OHS senior Kyra Wheeler is being honored as our Tiger of the Week! Kyra is a member of OHS's Speech and Debate team, where she is an important leader, according to sponsor Nathan Harmon.
"She is incredibly creative and capable in performance art," Harmon said. "Additionally, she also provides creative and original thinking when helping others with their own interpretations of their work. Students take her suggestions seriously and thoughtfully. She is an outstanding student.

Meet William Crawford!
Meet 1st Sgt. William Crawford, one of OHS's awesome JROTC instructors. Crawford spent 24 years serving in the military and after he retired he began teaching and coaching at Ozark in 2016. Crawford's main focus is the JROTC Rifle Team, and he has helped the team become one of the best not only in the state, but in the nation.
"I enjoy the community of Ozark and the dedication and commitment of the rifle team athletes," he said. "This year we plan to continue our winning streak for the state Civilian Marksmanship and Junior Olympic Championships. We are looking to place top five in the nation in both the Sporter and Precision categories."

OHS Choirs Perform First Concert of the Year!
OHS Choirs had their first concert of the year recently and it was one for the books! If you missed their performance check out some of the videos on our YouTube channel. Performances include "Wake Me a Song" and "Moon Flight" by the OHS Women's Chorus; "Awake My Heart to Sing" and "She Lingers On" by OHS Advanced Women's Chorus; "The Dawn's Awake" and "In Flanders Fields" by OHS Men's Chorus; and "The Awakening" and "Pure Imagination" by OHS Chorale. Meet Ozark Alum, Nathan Herrold!
Nathan Herrold (Class of ' 07) is just one of Ozark's fabulous alumni! Herrold is best known for his time as a linebacker on the football team at Ozark High School, where his jersey is retired, and Arkansas State University. While at Ozark, he was an all-District, all-conference, all-Ozarks, and All-State linebacker.
