Checking in on Fine Arts, Special Services, World Languages, and Career and Technical Education
As we look forward to the Thanksgiving Break this coming week, it is important to give thanks and recognize all of the great and important things that are happening at HHS. While it may have seemed like a whirlwind to get to the end of November, I am deeply appreciative of our teaching staff and students for all the hard work they are putting in right now. It is great to be in classrooms and see students smiling, laughing, and engaging with their teachers on a daily basis - all while growing in their understanding of literature, building tables, putting on concerts, understanding probability and how that is used in our daily lives, and so much more. I hope everyone is able to find time to enjoy the Thanksgiving Break!
As we phase out of November, we will also check in on what is happening in CTE, World Languages, Special Education and Student Services, and Fine Arts.

Bengal Pounds and Bengals of the Month
Bengals of the Month are nominated by and voted on by our teaching staff each month. Students nominated are those who come to school each day ready to learn, are kind people and include those around them, and help to make HHS a great place to be. The Students of the Month for November are:
- Jamie Calder
- Lachlan Mullen
- Jasmyn Paul
Congratulations!
Bengal Pounds can be given out by any member of the school staff at any given time when they see a student exhibiting our Bengal Expectations. Some examples include, holding open the door, working hard on their assignments and exhibiting growth, helping a student who is having a hard time, and many others. While we have many turned in, we draw a few each month and recognize those students. This is a quarterly drawing and the winners for the first quarter are:
- Hannah Henderson
- Madi Simpson
- Riley Hammond
- Emily Temple
- Katelynn Lee
- Ethan Helquist
- Andrei Buck
- Trinity Love
- James Benson
- Landon Hunter
Congratulations!

Speech and Debate Tournament Help - Judges Needed
Each year, Helena hosts an large Speech and Debate meet that brings in top competitors from around the state who show off their skills! It is an exciting event and we are appreciative to Coach Jen Hermanson and her crew for taking the time to put it on. With that said, it takes many volunteers to make this meet happen, and we are still in need of judges for the event. If you are available to help judge speech or debate events on Friday and/or Saturday, December 6-7, please sign up using the link below. We appreciate the support of our community in allowing these types of large events to happen! Go Bengals!

These students, pictured, started at 6:30 a.m. putting together over 1,100 complete lunches that were then distributed to the athletes and volunteers. Thank you to all of these students for giving their time to help make this event run as smoothly as it did.
Montana Food Day!
Helena Public Schools has been working hard to bring you more Montana Farm to School food as part of our commitment to our families. On November 21, we are offering our first Montana Menu Day where we will offer a variety of foods from all over Montana. Every school will be offering the special menu, but we will also have a variety of normal meals if students are not up for trying new things. We do hope that students take this opportunity to expand their horizons and perhaps raise their awareness that Montana has a variety great tasting food to offer.
