Core School Supplies for 2024-2025
The supply lists are divided by grade levels. Items which will not be used by a school / teacher may be omitted. Individual schools may specify specific colors of items but may not exceed the number requested on the RCS Core School Supply List. Additional items may be requested on a “wish list” but may not be added to the core supply list. Supplies are not to be listed as name brand specific.
Supply lists for high school students will vary depending on a student's specific schedule; check with your school / teacher for more information.

Reminder to complete application for Free/Reduced Meals
The Federal Free and Reduced Lunch Program is available to all families who qualify. RCS encourages all families to submit an application. APPLY ONLINE HERE.

Parent consent required for minor care
A new state law requires schools to have active parent consent before your child can receive basic health care services by a school nurse or other school employee, for any reason except emergency situations. As such, we need all parents to complete a short form to provide consent. The form is now available on your Skyward account.
--
COMING SOON: School visitors’ rules of conduct
A new state law requires all schools to post a “Code of Conduct for School Visitors.” Our elected School Board is scheduled to adopt these rules at its meeting on Aug. 8. Once approved, we are required to post the conduct list in all schools, provide a printed copy to all parents, and obtain a signature from all parents. We want to give you a heads up about this new requirement and let you know more information will be coming home soon.

Stuff the Bus school supply drive ends Monday, July 29
Each year, the local United Way conducts a “Stuff the Bus” school supply drive and donates those supplies to our elementary schools for those students whose families cannot afford to purchase school supplies.
The collection is under way now through July 29. A list of the needed supplies and drop-off locations is available HERE. You can also purchase items directly from this Amazon Wish List.

ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL PROTOCOL
Elementary Arrival Procedures:
School doors open for arrival at 7am. Students should not be dropped off before 7am and asked to sit on the benches. This area is not monitored by adults until 7am.
From 7:00-7:35am all elementary students are held in the cafeterias.
If a student needs breakfast, we ask that they are dropped off before 7:30am to ensure they have enough time to get food and eat before teachers pick their students up at 7:35am from the cafeterias.
The elementary drop-off area is in front of the main elementary building. Students in grades K-5 should not be dropped off at the main office area and asked to walk to the elementary entrance. With two car lanes by the main entrance, student safety cannot be assured.
Parents should pull all the way up to the first white-outlined vehicle space next to the Elementary sidewalk labeled #7 at the very end of the awning. This allows for more students to be dropped off on the sidewalk at one time.
Students should exit from their car if pulled up next to the awning all the way down the sidewalk, not just the first couple of spots by the entrance. This allows us to unload more cars each round.
The last arrival bell rings at 7:45am, and students should be in their classroom by that time. If a student is dropped off after the 7:45am bell, an adult has to check them into the front office.
Last important note- Due to the number of parents that drop off students between 7:30-7:45am, traffic can be at a standstill due to so many cars wanting to turn left when exiting the parking lot. All cars leaving the Elementary car rider line will be asked to turn right starting at 7:30am in order to keep the car rider line moving.
Elementary Dismissal Procedures:
The school day ends promptly at 2:45pm. Please make sure to arrive on time for pick-up.
Bus riders will be dismissed to the buses outside the Elementary entrance to load from 2:45pm-2:50pm.
Car riders will be dismissed to the Large Cafeteria. Starting at 2:50pm, student names will be called with the number their car will pull up to at the Elementary entrance.
Any Elementary student that will be transported home by a High School driver shall be picked up from the Elementary library and dismissed through the playground doors to the High School parking lot. The student picking them up MUST be the driver. Otherwise, Elementary students should be picked up in the car rider line.
We kindly request that all parents and guardians remain inside their vehicles during the afternoon car rider dismissal. Our dedicated teachers and staff members will be present to assist students who may need help getting into their cars. We understand that this might be an adjustment, but it is a necessary step to ensure a smooth dismissal for all our students.
To further facilitate this process, we urge you to take the time to practice with your child how to properly buckle their seatbelt. This small practice can go a long way in expediting the dismissal process. In the event that your child requires additional assistance with buckling their seat belt, we ask that you pull into the bottom parking lot to the right of the car line. This will allow our car line to continue flowing and avoid any unnecessary delays.
Only individuals listed on the authorized pick-up list in Skyward will be allowed to collect your child from school. If you need to update the list or make any changes, please inform the school office in writing or by contacting Mrs. Jill Deaton at deatonj@rcschools.net or Mrs. Laurel Davenport at davenportl@rcschools.net.
Any changes to transportation arrangements should be communicated to the school office in advance and no later than 2pm on the day of the dismissal change.
Lastly, only cars with an official Eagleville car rider tag will be able to pick up Elementary students. If the car does not have a proper tag, the adult will have to come into the front office with an ID.
We thank you for your help and patience as we try to prioritize student safety and maintain an efficient and orderly arrival and dismissal process. We appreciate your support in helping us provide a secure and smooth experience for all our students and families. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
