Family Survey
Helping students do their best in school requires a team effort. Parents, students, and schools all play important roles in this process. To help all of us learn how to make your child's schooling experience as positive and beneficial as possible, please give us your honest, thoughtful responses to the questions below.
2024 Family Survey
Once there, select your child’s school from a searchable drop-down menu.
Respondents may also select other languages from the drop down.
After answering all the questions, make sure to hit the blue “Submit” button.
Survey will take ~14 minutes to complete
If a family has students attending more than one school within the district, they may go back to the same link to take the survey about a different school.
Please take the survey between now-November 29th.

Art Highlight
6th grade is finishing up their rose window designs. They focused on radial symmetry in this project. They have done a great job! Furthermore, the 6th graders have all received their sketch books! They must complete two pages a week. They can draw anything they are interested in. The goal is for them to fall in love with drawing! So, if your child is a sixth grader encourage them to draw, draw, draw.
Counseling Connection
1st Grade: Emotion Management
Your first grader is learning how to use clues, like looking at a person’s face and body and what’s going on, to guess how someone is feeling. They also learn words to describe more complex feelings—worried, calm, and frustrated. Toward the end of the unit, they practice 2 ways to feel calm when they experience strong emotions: asking for help and slow counting.
Why is it important? Research shows that children who learn the skills in this unit are more likely to:
Be better learners
Build stronger relationships
Have higher self-esteem
Be better problem-solvers
Practice at Home
What to Look For: Notice and praise your child when they recognize and label how someone else is feeling by looking at their face and body and what’s going on. You can say, “It does seem like your cousin is frustrated! He’s frowning, and he can’t get to the toy on the table. Good job using clues to guess how he feels.”
Discuss: A few times a week, ask your child, “When did you feel frustrated or worried today? What did you do to feel calm?”
Practice: After your child has learned slow counting at school, practice with them. Count slowly from 1 to 10, clapping quietly with each number.
