Dear Huskie Community,
We hope you and those close to you have had a terrific summer. Whether you are a returning family or new to our school, we are excited to welcome you to the 2024-2025 school year. Naperville North is an outstanding school which offers opportunities for all students and families to belong and contribute to our shared success.
NNHS has a lot of information to communicate to the community utilizing a few different methods. This is the first weekly 2024-2025 Huskie Howler. Important information will be included in the Howler on Monday each week. The Howler goes out to all NNHS families and staff. Stand alone Talk203 emails or texts will also be sent to targeted grade levels and groups as needed with specific information on school happenings. Additionally, I will send information that needs to be communicated with more urgency in a Remind text message for those who opt in. If you’d like to sign up for this community/principal Remind text message group text @nnhsupdate to the number 81010.
We look forward to seeing you at registration later this week. If you cannot make it on Thursday and Friday, late registration is on Wednesday, August 14. Freshmen are invited to attend the Freshmen Tours event on Wednesday, August 7 where they will have the opportunity to tour the building and get acquainted with the school and their classmates. Students must sign up in advance for this event by using this link: tinyurl.com/NNHSTOUR24.
Pursuing academic excellence while providing an opportunity for all students to learn and be successful is what we stand for. The dedicated staff of NNHS will set clear classroom expectations and provide learning activities that challenge students and foster development of critical thinking skills, adaptability, and the learner’s mindset. The Huskie staff is committed to providing each student with what they need for success.
The opportunities for students to get involved at NNHS are seemingly endless. A very high percentage of our students participate in activities and/or athletics outside of the academic day. We strongly encourage all students to join an activity or athletic team to develop friendships and an authentic sense of belonging. We regularly ask our students to find your ‘DRIVEN TO…’, meaning each student completes this short phrase based on their passions and interests. Whether it is driven to swim, driven to dance, driven to sing, or a myriad of other possibilities, we want to provide an opportunity for all students to be supported in pursuing what matters most to them.
We enjoy the partnership we share with families and believe in open communication. Please reach out to teachers, coaches, sponsors, or administrators if you have any questions or concerns. Together we provide the strong support that each of our students needs to be successful in and out of the classroom.
We are excited for the school year to begin next week. We look forward to the many events, experiences, and memorable moments that will make for a fantastic 2024-2025 school year. Thank you for allowing us to work with your students and share this journey with them. We wish each student and family a terrific start to the year.
Go Huskies!
Sincerely,
Jay Wachtel
