Dear Santa Margarita Families,

For the families that have recently registered, here is the link to last week's newsletter.

As new families have been registering, it has been a pleasure to meet everyone and I look forward to having you join our Mustang family. Teachers are back and preparing their classrooms for your children. In addition to the new paint and resurfacing that I mentioned last week, we also have new curriculum and Chromebooks that we will distributing to classrooms during the upcoming week.

Please review the information below in preparation for the first day of school this Thursday, August 15th.

Class assignments will be available in the AERIES Parent Portal on Wednesday, August 14th. You can find directions on how to access this information here. If you have any trouble locating the class assignments, don’t worry—we will have staff on-site early on the first day to assist families with this information.

After class assignments are posted in AERIES, the campus will be open from 4:00-5:00 PM, giving your family an opportunity to visit and see where the classrooms are located. Our office will also be open to provide any needed registration support, and the admin team will be on campus to answer any questions you may have.

Santa Margarita will commence our registration process during the month of August. Our office will be open for registration during the following dates and times:

• August 5th-13th, 8:30 am -2:30 pm
• August 14th, 8:30 am - 11:00 am and 4:00 pm -5:00 pm
• August 15th-16th, 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

The first day of school for all students is Thursday, Aug. 15th. Gates open at 7:45 a.m. and students are welcome to get breakfast from the MPR. Class will begin at 8:15 a.m.

All students, TK-8th grade will be on minimum day schedule on August 15th and 16th. ALL Students will be dismissed at 12:25.

TK/K Students will remain on minimum day schedule until August 30th.

Please prepare for pick up at these times.

We will be holding a TK/K information meeting on Wednesday, August 14th, at 2:00 PM in the MPR. This meeting is an opportunity for our new TK/K families to learn more about our school and to ask any questions they may have.

The data confirmation window opened on August 1st. Please login to the Aeries Parent Portal and complete your student’s data confirmation at that time. Data confirmation secures your student’s spot. This is a mandatory step in the enrollment process for all students, both new and returning.

You will have to take proof of address to your school only if you have moved to a new address.

Emails, text messages and phone calls from OUSD including those from your principal, teacher and the district office will be directly sent to you using the email address and phone number you provided in Aeries during data confirmation. It’s important that all the emergency contacts listed in Aeries have updated contact information so everyone can receive important messages from OUSD.

You no longer need to download any third party apps to receive messages from your school.

The Bell Schedule will remain the same as last year.

Gates open at 7:45.

Class begins at 8:15.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Fridays

TK/Kindergarten Dismissal at 2:10.

1st-5th Grade Dismissal at 2:55.

Middle School Dismissal at 2:57.

Wednesdays and Early Release Days

TK-8th Grade Dismissal 12:25
