STAR SCOOP
February 2025
Intersession
Challenger 7 will be on intersession break from March 10th – March 21st. This intersession break includes the district-wide spring break. Regular school sessions will resume on March 24th.
In an effort to support families during the intersession and provide additional opportunities for students, we will be offering the following programs during intersession for students in grades K-6. Availability for all programs will be offered on a first come, first serve basis. Please note, services will only be provided from March 10th – March 14th. No services will be available during the district-wide spring break from March 17th – March 21st.
The letter below will be sent home this week to all students. Please complete it and return by February 21st to help us plan accordingly for intersession. In addition, the Port Saint John Community will also be offering a camp. See their attached flyer below.
Valentine's Day Grams
Challenger 7 will be selling Valentine Carnation grams to send to friends, teachers, siblings, or your own student for only $2 per gram! Fill out as many grams as you'd like and return this form to the courtyard before school between Tuesday, February 4th and Friday, February 7th. All orders must be turned in by February 7th. Valentine's day grams and one carnation will be delivered on February 14th. Proceeds support PBIS and other student activities.
Thought Exchange Climate Survey
In order for 5th and 6th grade students to participate, parents/guardians must provide consent through FOCUS. Parents can view the student questions and give consent for students to participate in FOCUS. Beginning February 3rd, when you login into FOCUS you will be asked if you give consent for your child to take part in the climate survey. Students who have permission to participate will take the survey in March. The survey will take about 15 minutes.

Resiliency Skill of the Month
The Florida Department of Education developed state education standards and resources to equip students with skills that build resiliency. Each month, Brevard Schools Foundation will be sharing a Resiliency Skill of the Month, along with parent resources from FLDOE’s resiliency toolkit. Please see the attached guides on activities you can do at home to foster perseverance in your child.
PBIS STAR Store
We are a PBIS school. This means we have adopted a set of school wide expectations that define behavior expectations in and around our school campus and classrooms. Being a STAR student means being Safe, Trustworthy, Actively Engaged, and Respectful. When students are caught exhibiting one of these expectations, they earn STAR tickets which can be redeemed for various rewards.
We need your help stocking our STAR store with various items for our Pre-K through 6th graders. Order from our Amazon and Oriental Trading Wishlist with the link below to donate items or drop off other items in our front office for Alicia Lenderman
