As the school year draws to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey we've had together over the past months. It has been a year filled with challenges, triumphs, and countless memories.
First and foremost, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all of our students. Your resilience, adaptability, and commitment to learning have been nothing short of inspiring.

Hello folks and welcome to the last edition of Dorm Happenings for the Howser Dorm students and staff here on the campus at KSB. We welcomed back a small number of our students on Sunday afternoon with a meal of lasagna which was prepared by dorm staff along with assorted breads, deserts and drinks. Then spent some time in the dorm recreation room with exercise bikes, pop a shot, pinball and ping pong games. Then later went over to the recreation gym and spent time in the gym and the bouncy mat. On Monday the students had a fine and popular meal of hamburgers and tater tots and baked beans in the cafeteria prepared by Ms. Renee. Then the students and staff were entertained by Mr./ Mrs. Aaron with their dogs Olive and Bella. We were very excited to announce that another donation from Ms. Aaron and the Southern Dames of America for $550.00 for the dorm to purchase bowling supplies/shoes for the next school year. We are blessed to have the support of such fine people and organizations that help our students here at KSB. The KSB adventure continued into Tuesday as the dorm students were preparing for the UofL and IU baseball game at U of L , but it was rained out, so the students were able to go to the recreation gym and spend time in there with games, balls, bouncy mat and also time in the movie and lounge area. On Wednesday night we had a great time at the KSB Pavillion area as we had a senior cook-out and farewell moments to our dorm students Mahogany, Brock and Sophia. We had specific food request from seniors for food, sides and soft drinks, as well we got to share senior stories and moments of memory from our 3 senior dorm students. The other dorm students got to share how much they enjoyed our seniors and shared special moments and how they have been impacted by these folks while here at Howser dorm. On Thursday we got to take many of our students to prom after supper and were able to see all of them dressed up and ready to dance the night away in the recreation gym. The prom theme for the night was "CandyLand". The senior students were able to enjoy a meal specially prepared for them in the practical living lab in the school. The prom was an exciting and fun time with students, staff and a big thanks to all the people who were responsible for decorating the gym and providing food for everyone at the prom. Just a reminder that we will have a short week next week as we move into the last week of the school year. Hoping everyone has a safe weekend and great summer. Until next year...

The program is open to students whether they want to go to work or go on to post-secondary training when they leave high school. Students need to meet the definition of a student with a disability. The requirements are:
- Ages 14-21
- In an educational setting (public school, homeschool, private school, etc.)
- With a 504 plan, IEP, or documented disability
This year, the focus will be on STEM careers. However, the student does not need have to have a decision to go into a STEM career to attend. This is a great opportunity for career exploration. The link for applications is application here.
