Winter is in full swing!
We have been hit with some cold temps this winter and we just wanted to remind everyone to dress in layers and to write names on all those new coats, gloves, snow pants, etc. Please be sure that your child has full winter gear daily. We have outdoor recess up to -10 (including wind chill), so students need to be dressed for it! Please be prepared for outdoor recess even if you think it will be too cold, as often during the day temps rise enough for us to go outside. Along those lines, layers are great for indoors as well to be prepared for drills or real emergencies. No tank top or sleeveless shirts or dresses should be worn unless a sweater or covering is worn with it. No open-toe shoes or sandals. Shorts may be worn before October 1st and after May 1st, but not between October 1st and May 1st. It is suggested that girls wearing dresses or skirts have tights or pants underneath. There are several reasons for these expectations, one of which is the weather outside. While students wear warm gear during recess, there are often fire drills, or may be actual emergencies, in which there is not time to “prepare” with warm gear, therefore, appropriate attire is needed at all times.
Wednesday we also have our second school assembly starting at 1:30pm. Parents are welcome to attend, but must sign in at the office first.
Mr. Michael is gearing up for a great skiing season which is scheduled to start next week. He will send home information and permission slips soon. Our after school Cross Country Skiing club is in need of some good quality youth/kids size cross country skiing equipment. If you have any skis, boots, or poles that you are no longer using and would like to donate them to the school, we would be very appreciative. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
