Holiday Help Program - Donate by 11/17
Arlington Health and Human Services' Holiday Help Program is a volunteer-managed project that provides direct support and gifts to Arlington youth during the December holiday season. Through generous donations, Holiday Help brightens the lives of hundreds of Arlington children each year, while helping to relieve some of the financial stress families face during the holidays.
Prior to 2020, the program provided gifts that were purchased by givers, organized by volunteers, and distributed to receiving families. Over the past two years, the program has made the shift to distributing gift cards to families, allowing them the opportunity to choose and purchase items directly for their children. Please consider making a tax-deductible contribution by November 17th to support this year's Holiday Help program.

A huge thank you to Mary Suter and Amanda DeForest who organized the entire event!!

Brackett Snack Program
Did you know that the front office at Brackett provides snacks to about 20 students a day? This amazing snack program is supported by Arlington EATS and coordinated by PTO volunteers.
Our goal is to provide snacks to any child who needs one so that there is no stigma attached to being hungry. With this as our guiding principle, we know we will feed kids who simply forgot their snack, are growing, are extra hungry or are from a family that is simply struggling to put food on the table. Once they have enough to eat, then they can get back to the work of being a student.
With that in mind, we ask that:
If it is possible for you, please provide a snack for your child, knowing that if you forget one day, we have you covered!
If you find your kiddo is ignoring the snack you send from home, take a minute to explain to them that those snacks are only if they forgot theirs or are extra hungry.
If you have the ability, we ask that you help support our snack program so that we can always have enough for all children. Stay tuned for future opportunities to support this important program.

Wait Until 8th
“The Wait Until 8th pledge empowers parents to rally together to delay giving children a smartphone until at least the end of 8th grade. By banding together, this will decrease the pressure felt by kids and parents alike over the kids having a smartphone.”
Brackett currently has active Wait Until 8th pledges in the fifth and second grades. Our goal is to have an active pledge in each grade by the end of December.
We hope you’ll consider signing today!
*Please note that you can sign the pledge AND still give your student a flip phone or watch. You can find a list of smartphone of alternatives here.
We currently have an active team of parents working to promote this cause. Please reach out to Alli LaValley, Beth Rapoza, or Zoe Tarshis to learn more!

Arlington Chamber of Commerce to Plant Looking for Volunteers to Help Plan 10,000 Daffodil Bulbs for Spring 2025 Bloom
The Arlington Chamber of Commerce and Town of Arlington are planting 10,000 daffodil bulbs along the historic Battle of Menotomy reenactment route. This ambitious project is part of the town’s 250th-anniversary commemorations, scheduled for April 2025, which will celebrate Arlington’s crucial role in the Revolutionary War.
In preparation for the event, the Chamber will distribute daffodil bulbs to individuals and local groups in October for planting in pre-selected locations along the reenactment route and throughout the town’s business districts. As part of the larger 250th anniversary celebrations, the daffodils will enhance the historic reenactment event while serving as a vibrant reminder of the town’s unique heritage.
