Field Day is happening!!! West Middle School agreed to let us use their football field to host our field day. The operations department is funding busing to get us there. This is all thanks to one of our amazing Ridgeway parents, Lyndsy Richardson, who worked with the district to get this done! Field Day will be held on May 20 from 9:30-11:45. We will load buses at 9 and return by 12. We will have lunch at school that day. As always, we will need our outstanding parent community to volunteer for this event. Volunteers will meet us at the West MS football field at their shift time. Watch your email/text next week for a link to sign up to volunteer for a shift/station! Special thank you to Kylene and Lyndsy Richardson for helping us organize and pull off this event!
We are officially done with MAP testing for this year! Students persevered and focused to show what they know. We wanted to celebrate the hard work of our students, so 3rd-5th graders got to enjoy pizza on the front lawn yesterday afternoon. Pizza Tree donated 10 pizzas and gave us the rest at cost, which PTSA covered. THANK YOU to Pizza Tree and PTSA for providing this celebration. Shout out to Jessica Ramsey who has worked hard on community outreach this year and was able to arrange this for us! The next time you visit Pizza Tree (if you haven’t, do so, they are amazing) consider thanking them for their donation.
Teacher Appreciation
We would LOVE to celebrate ALL our Ridgeway teachers! We courage your child to write a note or compliment to not only their homeroom teacher but maybe a specials teacher or another teacher they appreciate.
Teacher Appreciation Week is next week, May 5-9. As a part of the activities that the Teacher Appreciation Committee has planned for that week we ask that you help your kiddos fill one of these out for their teacher(s). While the teachers all love the treats and trinkets that we provide, it's the notes from the kids (and their families) that are the real treasures. If you have any questions about Teacher Appreciation Week, please contact me at KyleneS.is@gmail.com.
Unit Notes
Unit A
Thank you for making our Math Night a success! We appreciate all the families who joined us in becoming royal mathematicians. If you couldn't attend and are interested in take-home math games, please email amincke@cpsk12.org.
Our final Munch-n-Read was a fantastic event! It has been a joy to enjoy family reading throughout the year. Thank you for your donations of snacks and time, which made each event successful!
As we approach the final stretch of the school year, we are excited to continue our beloved tradition in Unit A: the ten-day countdown to the end of school. To make these themed days happen, we need supplies. We keep the themes a surprise and reveal them each morning. Our theme days will align with the RWE countdown, but we've added some flair! 😊
If you are willing and able to donate, please use the link below. If you have any questions about the countdown or end-of-year events, feel free to contact amincke@cpsk12.org or mec6df@gmail.com.

Unit B
- Unit B will be iready testing next week. Encourage your student to push through and focus! This is our last round of iready testing. We will share results by the end of the year.
- We are looking forward to showing off all of our Oceans work on May 13th. If you student wants to do an extra project they are welcome to do so at home and they may bring it in on the 13th.
Unit C
Students have done a great job taking the iReady math and reading test this week! We are so proud of their hard work and perseverance.
We had an awesome time at the Missouri River field trip! Lots of lasting memories were made.
