Assistant Principal's Corner
LMS Families,
We have had a great start to the school year and I look forward to continuing the momentum we have going. Our students have done a tremendous job conducting themselves appropriately on a daily basis. As always, when students make bad decisions there will be consequences and discipline handed out. A few things I want to remind you of.
1) Cell Phone Policy - our students have done an outstanding job with this so far. We do anticipate as the year goes on that students will get more comfortable and try to push back with the cell phone policy. We will not waiver on this and any time a cell phone is seen during the school day, it will be dealt with accordingly. As a reminder, the following has been put into place this school year.
- 1st offense, parent pick up.
- 2nd offense, parent pick up and after school detention.
- 3rd offense, parent meeting and after school detention.
- 4th offense, out of school suspension.
2) Attendance at Athletic Events - LMS students will not be allowed into LHS athletic events without being accompanied by an adult. Please make necessary arrangements for our home football games moving forward. You are responsible for your child during games and if unnecessary behavior occurs, discipline will be handed out accordingly.
I look forward to continuing to work with our students and watching them grow. They are doing an outstanding job so far and as always, if you have any questions, please reach out!

Middle school is a transitory time for kids. They want more independence, but still need strong adult connections at home.
For example, you may think your child has outgrown having you read aloud to them. However, there is still value in reading to your preteens and teens. You can read books that are at a slightly higher level than your child would read on their own and have valuable discussions about cause-and-effect as well as important themes. More importantly, this is an excellent way to stay connected to your child with important quality one-on-one time!
There are many ways you can continue to foster connections with your middle schoolers to help them succeed in school!
