A Weekly Newsletter for Warrior Families and Students
November 15, 2024
Greetings Warrior Families and Friends,
This week was a whirlwind of energy, with amazing things happening in many spaces. This week brought a burger creation competition in our new Advanced Culinary class as students competed (with judges) to earn the privilege of having their burger creation selected to be on the lunch menu for a day. How cool is that? Another exciting event this week was the Division 1 sports signing event. Exciting, for sure. However, for me, the exciting part of this event was hearing our great student-athletes talk about the impact that their teachers and families have had on their lives. These athletes recognize how important it is to be a good student and to demonstrate gratitude for those who support them. Finally, there was additional excitement in the air today as our girls' swim team was sent off to state by our amazing drumline at the end of the day, and our football team is off to play its level 4 game.
On a slightly more serious note, we ask that if you have a student driver in your house, speak with them about driving safely and responsibly. Safety is our number one priority, and we had a few driving situations involving unsafe student driving in our school lots and on our roads. Students engaging in unsafe driving run the risk of having their parking privileges suspended at school and/or being ticketed by the Muskego Police Department. Thank you for the partnership.
Have an amazing weekend!
Go, Warriors!

Junior Planning Meetings
As part of our Academic and Career Planning (ACP) process, our school counselors have been working diligently to meet individually with juniors out of English 11 and AP Language and Composition course sections.
During these junior planning meetings, our counselors reviewed students’ academic progress toward graduation and asked about each student’s post high school career plans. Our approach includes equipping students with knowledge as well as guiding them with resources that will help in their planning. These conversations provided time for our counselors to answer questions that students may have about the process and provided recommendations for next steps in each student’s individual planning process. One of our priorities is for students to feel confident selecting courses for senior year that align with individual interests and plans.
Students took notes during the meeting. When you talk with your student, we encourage you to ask them to show you their Junior Planning Document. Counselors will be meeting with students again after Winter Break to help continue the planning and solidify senior year course selections. If you have any questions or require additional information regarding these meetings, please do not hesitate to reach out to your student's assigned counselor.
FBLA fundraiser
Our Muskego FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) officer team is looking to raise money for the Alzheimer Association. Our chapter has set a goal to raise $5000 district-wide for the Alzheimer's Association. This money will help to find a cure for Alzheimer's, a deadly condition that affects millions. If you are willing to donate to the cause, please stop in the Warriors Warehouse to make an in-person donation or you can donate virtually through the link below.
Muskego FBLA thanks you for your time and support!

MHS is excited to host our annual Financial Aid Information Night presentation. This opportunity will take place on November 20th at 6pm in the MHS Performing Arts Center. Please reach out to School Counselor, Mrs. Christine Knapp (christine.knapp@muskegonorway.org) with any questions!
