Message from Principal Perez
Hello Raider Families,
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! Our staff is thrilled to return and continue fostering growth and learning within our school community. As we begin the year, we’re excited to support students in embracing our Raiders Goals—being Thinkers, Communicators, and Contributors—qualities we hope all students will embody by graduation. This will be introduced during our Week of Welcome (WOW), an extended homeroom period during the first week of school.
It’s crucial for parents and guardians to stay connected with us to ensure a successful start to the year. We encourage you to engage through our school website, social media, the Raider Review, and ParentSquare.
We invite you to our Back to School Night on September 5th, starting at 5:00 p.m. This event will feature entertainment, a meeting, and classroom visits.
Please remember to complete the data verification process if you haven’t already done so. This helps us maintain accurate contact information and supports our school’s funding.
I look forward to a year of productivity, challenges, and memorable experiences.
Thank you,
Gregory Perez
Rowland High School Principal

Class Schedules & Adjustments
During the check-in process, students received their unofficial academic schedule. This schedule will most likely hold in place and become official with the start of the school year. Every year we have students and/or parents who want to change a class for various reasons (i.e., the student wants to be in the same classroom as his/her friend, doesn’t want a particular teacher, wants a different period for the class, etc.). As in the past, we cannot honor student or parent requests for schedule changes. These types of changes cannot be made because our Master Schedule gets set based on the request for classes provided during the registration process.
Once the schedule is in place, there is very little flexibility to make significant changes to our offerings because books have been ordered, teachers have been hired and/or assigned, and the curriculum has been developed based on the Master Schedule.
Adjustments to a student’s schedule will be made for the following reasons:
1. The student did not receive a required grade-level course; or
2. The student does not have a minimum of 5 classes.
There is movement of classes after the first two weeks of school, but that is limited and only to balance classes. We hope this explains our process. Thank you for being so understanding.
