Home of the latest news, photos & videos in Argyle ISD

The Argyle ISD Bond Election is May 3. Early voting starts April 22. The bond proposal was built by the community-led Bond & Growth Planning Committee and addresses student enrollment growth, campus improvements and infrastructure.
Key Facts:
- Bond does not include an increase to the current tax rate.
- AISD is projected to exceed 11,000 students in 2034-2035 (currently 6,200 students)
- Prop A includes new construction - Middle School #2 & Elementary #6
- Prop B includes Baseball/Softball Complex at AHS in Canyon Falls (currently AHS plays at AMS, site of the future second HS)

📄 Why Does The Ballot Say THIS IS A PROPERTY TAX INCREASE?
The answer is because it's State Law. This is a request for Texas school districts to include the statement when you see your ballot. However, Argyle ISD's Bond Election DOES NOT include an increase to the current TAX RATE for district voters.
Bond funds are tied specifically to the I&S (Interest & Sinking) portion of the tax rate, which is separate from the M&O (Maintenance & Operations) side that the state compresses. The 2022 Bond and current 2024 Bond proposal are both structured to be supported at the district’s current tax rate.
Future changes at the state level—like how the Legislature or Comptroller adjusts school funding formulas—can affect local tax structures over time. However, as of now, Argyle ISD’s financial advisors have confirmed that this bond can be passed and funded while maintaining the current tax rate. That’s based on conservative growth assumptions and long-range debt planning.
Also important to note: The district does not receive the bond funds all at once. Funds are issued in phases, over time, only as needed for construction, so the full amount is not impacting taxpayers immediately.
BOND 2025: Who developed the Bond Proposal?
The community-led Bond & Growth Planning Committee (BGPC), comprised of 30 parents, community members, staff and business leaders, developed a fiscally responsible bond recommendation that prioritizes education, safety and strategic land acquisition.
They met over two months and studied the latest enrollment growth, finances and projections. They also discussed the needs of the students while reflecting on community priorities. They used data to guide recommendations and support educational goals.
