From the Principal (Intern!)
Dear Hillendale families,
Happy Super Bowl Weekend!
We are thrilled to announce the return of Hillendale’s Student Wellness Day scheduled on Friday, April 4th! In alignment with UCFSD’s Wellness Standards and 7 Dimensions of Wellness, Hillendale students will enjoy a day centered around physical, mental, social & environmental health - true trademarks of what makes Hillendale such a special place. What also makes Hillendale a special place is you! If you’re interested in running 25 minute sessions for our students on this day, please complete this Google Form. In the past we’ve had great parent-led wellness sessions on breath work, yoga, and art! Not sure if what you have to offer aligns? Please reach out to me (Mrs. Callinan) and we can chat.
Thank you for your support of our annual Penny Drive! We raised a grand total of $2,784.66! Our Silly Stringing of Mr. Leight & Eagles Spirit Assembly on Friday was a great way to celebrate our donations and cheer on our Philadelphia Eagles. Students will continue to provide a service when they complete bag lunches for our local food kitchens.
Bingo Night was a huge success! Thank you to all families (and staff!) who came out to support our school. Bingo winners will be contacted this week and teachers will set up times for their prizes to be fulfilled. Congratulations to all of our Bingo winners!
For your planning purposes, school will be closed on Monday, February 17th.
Have a great week!

Hillendale Updates
Valentine's Day @ HES
We are excited to celebrate Valentines Day at Hillendale! Students are welcome (but not required) to bring valentines to school as long as students have a valentine for each child in their class and as long as no edible treats are included. Individual teachers and grade levels may make more specific requests. We hope your huskies enjoy this tradition! For Valentine's Day parties upcoming (and for all parties throughout the school year) we ask that parents refrain from bringing siblings. Please reach out to our office if you have specific questions. We appreciate your understanding!
Heart of a Husky Club!
Our Heart of a Husky Club has been a tremendous success! Students have been putting in the effort to be recognized for “showing they care, doing their best, and being kind to everyone.” Staff members have been awarding tickets to highlight students who demonstrate these positive behaviors.
We have filled our 200 board for the third time since January 1st! When the board is full, a randomly selected group of 12 students wins a small prize. Our 5th Grade Student Council has taken the lead on this initiative, managing the board, recognizing students on HETV news, delivering prizes, and more. Thank you again for your support of our new program!
