Good Afternoon RPI Families,

We had another great week of learning this week at RPI. There were so many unique and authentic learning opportunities that happened, we couldn't keep up with them all on Facebook. What a great problem to have!

As we get deeper into the month of March, I'm asking that you continue to have conversations about "The Rocket Way...Respect. Pride. Integrity" with your students. This month has a tendency to be trying on many people for various reasons, but mostly because the days are getting longer, the weather warmer and spring break is on the horizon (and that can be both a positive and a negative). We typically see a spike in behavioral issues because of this. Mrs. Whitaker and I will be meeting with every team tomorrow to discuss our expectations, reminding them of expectations and that #OtherPeopleMatter. Please help us and do the same.

This week our kids will be talking about "optimism" in their P2 time. This is right in my wheelhouse! I have always been a glass 3/4 full guy. Perhaps its because of the positive influences in my life. If you are a RP grad like me, perhaps you can still visualize the positivity and optimism of Mr. Beckeman as he walked the halls? I know I have many of those moments as I walk our halls daily!

In looking through this week's lessons, I came across this video clip from the movie "Pursuit of Happiness." What a great lesson for all of us parents. How can we help our kids achieve what it is they want, even if it isn't in our life plan? How can we help them shine?
