Note from the Principal

Good morning parents!


I hope you had a relaxing break with your loved ones. We have several very exciting events coming up in January, in particular Catholic Schools Week. I look forward to seeing many of you at the HSA meeting this Wednesday.


As we begin the second half of the year, I wanted to issue a reminder that per our handbook, teachers have 24 hours to respond to emails sent to their school email address. Teachers may not be able to respond immediately to emails due to the hands on and direct instruction that is expected and required of our wonderful staff. That being said, communication between home and school is essential to your child's academic success. If you have not received a response in that allotted time from a staff member, please let me know.

Re-enrollment Due January 31st

Re-enrollment for the 2020-2021 school year is due on January 31st. There will be administrative staff available in the library at 6pm on Wednesday before the HSA meeting to help walk families through the TADS enrollment process. Please stop by if you would like assistance.

School Closings/Delays

As a reminder, St. Mary of the Assumption follows PG county for weather related delays and closings. We will alert you to any schedule changes as soon as we are notified.

Reminders

Raffle Basket Items Needed!

Each class is asked to bring in items to make a raffle basket for the Gala in February. Please bring in any donations to your homeroom teacher. The class with the basket that makes the most money wins a prize!


o Pre-K: Disney: anything Disney, big or small
o Kindergarten: Baking: specialty spices, bakeware, etc.
o 1st grade: Fitness: fitness bags, yoga equipment, small weights, resistance bands, water bottles,
o 2nd grade: Harry Potter: anything and everything Harry Potter from the books to mugs. If it has anything Harry Potter associated with it, we want it!
o 3rd grade: Dad Basket: specialty grilling items, Man Cave items, beer mugs, etc.
o 4th grade: Maryland: We are proud of our State and like to show it. If you see something that screams Maryland, grab it! Anything with our flag to crabs and Old Bay!!
o 5th grade: Coffee, Tea, and Chocolate: mugs, specialty coffee, a tea kettle, an espresso frother, any type of chocolate.
o 6th grade: Sports Fan: items for Ravens, Redskins, Nationals, Orioles, Capitals, Mystics, Wizards....or any of the actual balls/equipment from any sport
o 7th grade: Date Night: restaurant gift cards, movie passes, spa certificates, candles
o 8th grade: Lottery Tickets: scratch offs or cash
