Husky E-News
December 15, 2024
From the Principal
Hillendale families,
I hope you are having a great weekend! Thank you for your time at our winter concerts this past week. A well deserved shout out to Mr. & Mrs. Jennings, Mr. Fegley & Mrs. Eichmann for putting together a terrific program and inspiring our huskies to love music.
I am extremely excited to announce that, as a direct result of all of your and our PTO's generosity, the playground equipment we ordered last spring has finally been delivered and installed! Between all our rainy days last week, children got to enjoy their new climber and two new spinners (a husky favorite!). Thank you so much for making this improvement to our play areas possible for our children through your contributions to our various fundraisers and our annual Spring PTO Parents Night Out.
As a reminder, school will be closed from December 23rd - January 1st.
Have a great final school week of 2024!

HES Holiday Spirit Day on 12/20
Please see details below about a Holiday Spirit Day created by our Student Council on 12/20.
Space Remains in "Husky Sensory Squad" Winter Activity!
Few spaces still remain in our "Husky Sensory Squad!" Please see more about the nature based program below:
The Husky Sensory Squad offers nature walks in all weather conditions, encouraging students to dress accordingly for outdoor exploration. Activities focus on sensory experiences, art, fine motor skills and play, fostering creativity and engagement with nature. Designed for 15 students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade, it provides a dynamic, hands-on learning environment.
Grades K-2: Mondays and Wednesdays from 8 a.m. - arrival (15 students)
Advisor: Mrs. Trinh Hawkins
Registration for the winter session was opened on December 9 at 10:00 AM. You will need to access your child's PowerSchool account in order to register. Instructions and details about our program are located on our webpage: HES
It's important to know that activities are limited and can only be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. To keep our Elementary Student Activities Program accessible to as many students as possible, we kindly ask that you initially register for one activity per child in the winter session. Once registration is a couple weeks underway, on December 23, we encourage you to check back and consider registering your child for multiple activities, as available. Registration for the winter session will close on December 27. If there is not an opportunity for your child this winter, please check back in the spring session.
As a District, we find tremendous value in the way that student activities build community, create connections, teach life lessons and help kids to discover their passions. We also feel strongly that student activities are supposed to be FUN.
Thank you for your support of our new programs!
