SkillsUSA Hosts Multimedia Viewing Party to Celebrate Award-Winning Films
MBIT students gathered in the cafeteria for a special viewing party showcasing the incredible talent of our Multimedia Technology students over the past five years. The event featured a collection of award-winning films created by students, highlighting their creativity, technical skills, and storytelling abilities.
To make the experience even more exciting, SkillsUSA proudly sponsored the event, ensuring that students could enjoy freshly popped popcorn while watching the impressive lineup of student-produced films. From compelling documentaries to creative short films and dynamic visual storytelling, the event was a celebration of the hard work and dedication of MBIT’s multimedia students.
“This event was not just a celebration of past successes but also an inspiration for current and future multimedia students,” said Jim Davey, Multimedia Instructor. It’s amazing to see how much talent has come through this program, and we’re excited to continue producing high-quality, award-winning content in the years to come.
The viewing party served as a reminder of MBIT’s commitment to fostering innovation and excellence in multimedia production, encouraging students to explore their passions and push creative boundaries. Congratulations to all of our talented students and alumni who have contributed to this legacy of success!

🔒 Cybersecurity Meets Public Safety! 🔒
Network Operating Systems & Security (NOSS) students provided an exciting and eye-opening cybersecurity training session to our Pubic Safety students led by Mr. Hutchinson! This hands-on experience provided valuable insights into the critical role cybersecurity plays in protecting data, networks, and infrastructure—especially in fields like public safety where security is essential.
Through this collaborative session, students explored real-world cyber threats, ethical hacking principles, and defense strategies that impact both IT professionals and first responders. Understanding how to prevent cyber attacks is a key skill in today’s digital world, and this training helped bridge the connection between network security and public safety operations.
A huge thank you to Mr. Hutchinson for sharing his expertise and giving our students a deeper understanding of cybersecurity’s impact on protecting communities and critical systems!

MBIT Alumni Spotlight: Michael Lux, Class of 2020
“When I was a student at MBIT, I never imagined how much my passion for engines would evolve,” says Michael Lux, a 2020 graduate whose journey has taken him from the Automotive Technology and Collision Repair programs at MBIT to a career in aviation maintenance.
Michael's time at MBIT ignited his love for working on engines, especially during his experience rebuilding them under Mr. Schwarz’s guidance. After graduating, he took that passion to new heights—literally. In September 2022, he enrolled at the Aviation Institute of Maintenance, where he spent nearly two years mastering his craft. By June 2024, he successfully earned his Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license.
Now, Michael is putting his skills to work at West Star Aviation, where he started in the airframe department, performing inspections and structural maintenance on private jets. His dedication and passion led him to a new role in November 2024, joining the engine department, where he now specializes in inspecting, maintaining, and replacing aircraft engines—something he first fell in love with at MBIT.
“I’m incredibly grateful for my experience at MBIT. It helped shape me into the person I am today, even when I didn’t realize it at the time. To current students—keep chasing your dreams because only greatness awaits!”
