Principal's Message
Karrer Parents-
On Monday, November 25th we will have a school wide turkey trot event! We will reserve November 26th as a rain date, however the weather is looking in our favor for Monday as of now! Students will rotate between three stations during this 45 minute time period- walking or running in our first annual "turkey trot", cheering on others from the football stands as they run/walk around the track and course, and playing grade level yard games in one of our outdoor spaces. This event is in alignment with our school goal on sense of belonging (In the spring of 2025, 94% of students will report having a supportive relationship with a friend or an adult from school.)
We will also have a two day spirit week next week, preparing to cheer on our Ohio State Buckeyes (or the team of your choice!) with a hat and jersey day Monday and a scarlet and grey day (or your favorite team colors!) on Tuesday. There will also be a surprise fun event planned for students on Tuesday in the cafeteria.
There will not be a newsletter next week given it is a two day week. I hope you all enjoy the long holiday weekend together with family and friends, and thank you for your partnership!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Brooke
Math Counts at Karrer
KMS MathCounts will start on Wednesday, December 4th from 3:15-4:15 p.m. in the KMS Library. MathCounts is a national middle school mathematics competition for grades 6-8 that builds problem-solving skills and fosters achievement through four levels of fun, in-person "bee" style contests. Please contact the MathCounts advisor Sarah Kleinhenz for questions at kleinhenz_sarah@dublinschools.net.
Media Center Updates
- Book Fair The Scholastic Book Fair is returning to Karrer on December 10-13! Stay tuned for more details in future newsletters, or preview the book fair's inventory and load your child’s eWallet on the book fair website.
- Chromebook damage Kathy Parker-Jones recommended that schools send a message about intentional damage to chromebooks. Here is a Canva announcement that you could add as a pdf/jpeg, or feel free to re-word. If you include the entire Canva announcement, please include this link to the DCS Chromebook page below that visual (Davis's librarian said the Canva document wasn't clickable in their family newsletter).
