Bulldog Bulletin

Dear Bulldog Families-

I hope this message finds you and your family well. As we move through another exciting and productive week, I wanted to take a moment to share some highlights and upcoming events at Galileo Middle School.

Weekly Highlights:

1. Congratulations to our Lady Bulldog A and B Volleyball Teams for winning both their tournament games on Wednesday evening. We are beyond proud of them. Can't wait to see what they do in the next round.
2. Our Girl's Cross-Country team placed at their meet on Wednesday. We are SO proud of the work that they have been putting in this fall.

Upcoming Events:

1. Galileo Middle School Spirit Week is September 30th thru October 4th

• Mon: Soccer Mom/BBQ Dad
• Tues: Pajama Day
• Wed: Anything but a Backpack
• Thur: Throwback Thursday (clothing from a different decade)
• Fri: Dress as your Type

Parameters for Spirit Week:

• No hats unless it is Hat Day
• Anything but a Backpack Day allowable item: Ice chests/coolers, strollers, suitcases, lunchboxes, trash bags, garbage bins, reusable bags, pillowcases, duffel bags, briefcases, cardboard boxes, instrument cases. IF the item becomes a distraction, Galileo reserves the right to take the item and return to the student at the end of the day.

2. Parent/Teacher conferences are right around the corner. We are offering three different days for conferences this year. Please see dates and times below. Advisory teachers will be reaching out to families to set up conferences. However, we also encourage you to please reach out to your advisory teacher as well. We look forward to speaking with you about your child(ren) successes and next steps!

Reminders:

1. Students need to be sure to carry their school IDs with them at all times. This will support them in moving through the lunch line quickly and they need them to get into after school athletic events.
2. Panorama Family Survey is due on October 4th. We appreciate your feedback. Please take some time (less than 15min) to complete this survey for us. Here is the link for more information.

Homecoming week is right around the corner…September 30 – Oct 4th.

Theme: Mitchell turns UP! the Spirit!

Monday: Just woke UP! (Pajama Day)

Tuesday: Jersey UP! (wear a jersey and $1 hat day)

Wednesday: Soccer and Barbeque UP (dress like a soccer mom or barbeque dad)

Thursday: White UP (wear white and get a free glow stick at the bonfire)

Friday: Marauder UP (class color day)

Bonfire: Thursday October 3rd 6-9pm (food trucks, games, music, bonfire will be lit around 7:30PM – family friendly event)

Homecoming Games: Friday October 4th – Garry Berry Stadium. Varsity soccer will kick off at 3:30PM and varsity football will kick off at 7pm. We will have great concessions with the grill up and running all night…that means Mitchell Street Corn will be rolling! AFROTC will present the colors and escort the captains to the coin toss, the Air Force Academy Wings of Blue Parachute team will jump in the game ball to start the football game.

We are so excited for this partnership to continue! Paper applications will be available in the office beginning October 1st. They are due to the front office on November 4th. We will be sure to make them available during conferences in October, as well as post them in next week's news.
