HES Book Blast!
PTO Fundraiser!
Dear Families and Community Members,
We are excited to announce our FOURTH annual HES PTO fundraiser with High Mowing Organic Seeds! Our PTO is organized for the purpose of supporting the education of children at HES by fostering relationships among the school, parents, teachers, and our community. HES PTO sponsored events include Movie Nights at Hancock Library, Ornament Day, Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Day, Teacher Appreciation Week, 4th Grade Moving Up Ceremony, and more! High Mowing Seeds are 100% organic and non-GMO, so while you are raising money for your school you are also supporting a healthy community and healthy planet. If gardening isn’t your thing, consider purchasing some as gifts for the gardeners in your life. The seeds will arrive in perfect time to start indoors or to direct seed in the spring.
Make your selections on the order form and return to the school with payments (cash or check) no later than Wednesday, March 5th. Order forms were sent home with students.
Please make checks payable to: Hancock PTO
Top earner from each class will receive gift certificate for one free ice cream at Tenney Farm!
For additional questions, please contact your fundraiser’s organizer: Stephanie Stahl (603) 562-9383 As a reminder, all orders need to be placed directly with your Fundraiser.
Thank you for your support

PE with Ms. Harris
This week our focus skill was jump roping. Jump roping is a great all-body exercise that develops hand-eye coordination and cardiovascular endurance. Classes took part in many different jumping activities and games. Students were able to practice their individual jumping skills with stations of hula hoop hopscotch, hurdles, skip-sticks, partner jump roping, using the thunderstick and more! Throughout the week, we discussed perseverance and grit and that we can do hard things. Practice makes progress and progress was made in students’ jump roping skills this week! We capped off the week with our SEL Valentine’s Day groups working together to participate in a variety of parachute games. Lots of fun was had by all!

We had another whirlwind week! In math we worked through multi-step word problems. Students used place value charts and number lines to show their thinking. In literacy we learned some more ways to spell the sound /oe/ and we answered questions about stories that were read. A big thank you to all of the families that helped out for our class party and during SEL day!

Brrrr...
As we move into the winter months, we would like to remind our learners and their families that we will be going outside for recess except in cases of extreme cold or inclement weather!
Please make sure your student wears appropriate outerwear including coats, hats, mittens, and when the snow flies - snow pants and boots!!!
Donations
HES is seeking clothing donations to support students in need. We welcome new or gently used items such as coats, sweaters, pants, shirts, and shoes in all children’s sizes. These donations will help ensure that every student has access to comfortable and weather-appropriate clothing. If you would like to contribute, please drop off donations at the school office during regular hours. Thank you for your generosity and support!
