Medieval Times Drama Club
Rehearsal Schedule
The rehearsal is updated through the week going into our Fall Break. You can access it through the link provided or on the Drama Club Website. This will give you information on what characters are needed each day. Cast members will stay until 4:30 moving forward. If they are not working on their songs/parts, they will work independently to keep practicing their roles. If possible, please make sure that students have headphones/earbuds with them to practice on their own.
Theatre Clinic for 6-8 Grades
Student participants will enjoy a 5-part rotating workshop that will incorporate acting, singing, dancing, tech and improv. They will then present their new skills in a short final showcase. Students will tour the Mountain Ridge Auditorium, and get the opportunity to meet student leaders from each high school campus, as well as the teachers who run each program.
The cost per student will be $25. Lunch will be provided (pizza, cookies, drinks, etc.), and is covered by the cost of the clinic.
The Closing Ceremony will be at 1:45 pm, and parents are invited to attend. Student participants will receive: theatre swag and a goodie bag, a pizza lunch, and will get to perform their learning for a live audience.
This is an exciting opportunity we are piloting this year in order to build interest and recruitment for each of our Theatre Programs, as well as getting incoming students involved with our programs early.
This is only open to our 6 - 8 grade students at this time.
Beauty and the Beast @ Arizona Broadway Theatre
Through our partnership with Arizona Broadway Theatre, they are offering our Drama Club the opportunity to see Beauty and the Beast at a discounted rate. Mr. Helmick is waiting to hear about prices per ticket. The date that is available for us to attend the show is Friday, November 22nd.
The following will be included in the ticket price:
Class with a Beauty and the Beast Cast Member from 4:30 - 5:30
Dinner from 5:30 - 7:30 (The dinner choice is from the Kid's Menu, but you can upgrade for a cost if you wanted)
Show starts at 7:30
Talk Back with the Cast Directly Following the Performance
This is not required for cast members to attend, but is an awesome opportunity to see a professional show at a discounted price. Please be on the lookout for more information in the near future.
Do You Have a Trailer/Truck/SUV?
Our performance this year is going to be on the Sandra Day O'Connor High School Stage. We are VERY excited for this awesome opportunity, but we are going to need your help! We are starting to see who would be able to help us load our set into the theatre on Monday, March 3, 2025 and possibly help us load out the following Monday. Mr. Helmick would like to load the set in during the day on March 3rd and if you have a trailer/truck/or SUV that you are willing to help us load and take everything over, we would appreciate it. This is going to take a village and we can use everyone's help. Please email Mr. Helmick (nick.helmick@dvusd.org) if you are willing to help!
Show Help
Are you DVUSD Volunteer Trained and willing to help during show nights backstage? We are going to need several parents to help monitor cast members during the run of the show. We have two casts this year and so if you want to monitor on one of the shows that your student is not in, please email Mr. Helmick (nick.helmick@dvusd.org). Thank you so much for your support!

Everything is going as planned so far for our show! Both casts are working very hard to learn their music! Please encourage them to keep practicing their roles as often as they can so that we can have the best show possible! This is going to be the best show yet!
