A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear PES Families,
As we embrace the winter season, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude for your continued support and partnership. Your involvement plays a vital role in our school community, and we truly appreciate all that you do for our students.
Important Announcements
As winter approaches, we want to remind everyone of the importance of school attendance during these colder months. Here are some strategies to ensure our students can come to school regularly:
Dress Warmly: Layer clothing to keep students warm during the chilly mornings.
Plan Ahead: Prepare and pack bags the night before to avoid morning rush.
Stay Informed: Check the school’s website or app for weather updates and school announcements.
Encourage Rest: Ensure students get enough sleep to wake up refreshed and ready for school.
Staying Healthy: Regularly practice healthy hygiene routines and habits at home.
Celebrations from the Week
This past week has been filled with excitement and achievements:
School Spirit Week: Our students showed incredible enthusiasm by participating in some fun and creative activities that brought our community together.
Self-Management and Goal Setting: Students engaged in discussions about setting personal goals, learning valuable skills for managing their time and responsibilities effectively. We discussed positive thoughts, negative thoughts, and using self talk and self appreciation to shift our mindset from stuck to growth.
Science Experiments: We have had some amazing science experiments in classrooms. In grade 5, they have been experimenting with different types of solutions. In grade 2, they are learning about landslides and the flow of water that causes them. In grade 1, students experimented with umbrella creations that can withstand the wind that trees experience in nature.
Our students’ and teachers’ hard work showcases the supportive environment we strive to create together.
We are grateful for your ongoing support in making our school a nurturing place for learning and growth. Thank you for being an essential part of our school community. We look forward to our continued collaboration and the bright future ahead!
Warm regards,
Nina Willette

Letters to Santa
Santa always watches the Selectmen’s meetings during the month of December to see if they are being naughty or nice. Our Selectmen want to be on Santa’s nice list, so they thought it would be fun to read letters from the Town’s children. Letters to Santa can be mailed to or dropped off at Phippsburg Town Hall, 1042 Main Rd. Tune in to the Phippsburg local cable channel on Wednesday evenings starting at 5pm to hear what the Phippsburg children have added to their Christmas wish lists.
Town Hall Christmas Party
Wednesday, December 18th at 5:30pm, at the Phippsburg Town Hall. Bundle up and come celebrate the season with family and friends. The Phippsburg Recreation will be serving warm cider, hot chocolate, and Christmas cookies. Santa will arrive around 5:45pm to greet the children and hear what is on their wish lists. If there is anything you would like to add to this event, contact Town Hall at 389-2653 or Tammy Doran at 607-2483.
