Principal's Note
Dear Mariposa Families,
The next few months will be busy for our students continuing to grow their brains in all areas of school!
Starting in April our 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade students will take the state CAASPP Assessments. Testing days will begin on April 1st and go through May 16th. A calendar of testing days will be sent home. Please be mindful on those days to make sure your child is at school on time, well rested and having eaten breakfast. This is a time to let your child shine in all they have learned!
Our teachers take a day to review their students academic grow or lack of growth as a team at the end of our academic trimester. These days provide time and collaboration for our staff to work to create plans to provide specific support and help enrich our students in academic areas. I am so proud of the growth our students are making and our staff who are working so hard to meet the needs of our students. Parent Conferences are this week and report cards come out at the end of the week.
Please make sure your child is coming to school each day, on time. If your child is sick or needs to be absent, make sure to contact the office at 916-971-5212.
If you need to contact me, my email is kristin.finney@sanjuan.edu.

Please Remember that school is out early every Thursday. Students should be picked up in a timely manner. Even though our students are out, our staff is still working hard. If you have an emergency please reach out at 916-971-5212.
Attendance Matters!!
Each month students who have 100% Attendance are rewarded with a perfect attendance award and little attendance tag.
We know that things happen but being on time and present every day is very important. Parents get 10 parent verified illnesses a year, if you bring in a doctors note it gets coded differently and keeps parent illness codes available for emergencies or even just for a mental health day if needed. Most absences occur at the end of school and around the holidays. Three tardy days add up to one absence.
If you know your child is going to be absent please call our attendance line at 916-971-5212, or
email mariposaabsence@sanjuan.edu or on the San Juan app
Seems like we just had a week off! In 39 days we have Spring Break! Shortly after that we will be soaking up the summer sun!
