Message from the Principal
Dear Mustangs,
I hope you’re all having a fantastic weekend and are ready for a few well-deserved recognitions!
First, a huge congratulations to our Math Department for winning the Annual Staff Costume Contest! Their creativity and spirit shone brightly, making them truly deserving of the top spot. I’d also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to every department that joined in the fun and dressed up. Your participation brought so much joy and community spirit to our campus!
A special thank you goes out to Ms. Heredia, whose hard work made our Día de los Muertos celebration a memorable and meaningful event. From the beautiful ofrendas to the fantastic performances, every detail was carefully planned and appreciated. We were treated to amazing displays of talent from our mariachi ensemble, the Mecha Dance Team, Ballet Folklorico, and Pangkat Sayaw. Thank you to all the students who participated and shared the rich cultural traditions with our school community.
I also want to take a moment to recognize our fall sports teams and their coaches for an incredible season. Your hard work, dedication, and sportsmanship continue to make us proud. While some teams have completed their seasons, others are advancing in the playoffs, and we couldn’t be more excited to cheer them on! Good luck to those still competing—your Otay Ranch family is behind you all the way!
Thank you all for making Otay Ranch such a special place to learn, compete, and celebrate. Let’s keep the spirit strong as we head into the final stretch of the semester!
Respectfully,
Julio Alcalá
Principal, Otay Ranch High School

Mustangs Recognized for Exemplifying the Culture of Achievement and Belonging
Congratulations Anthony Copeland!!!
Anthony is being recognized this week by Mrs. Hall for Belonging, Learning, Unity, and Empathy:
"Anthony transferred into my class last year, and despite finding Biology challenging, he always maintained a positive attitude and worked hard. This year, during one of his lunchtime visits, he stepped in to help a current student with her makeup lab. When she expressed having a hard time in class, he encouraged her to stay positive and ask for help. His selflessness and willingness to assist others in need exemplify the Mustang spirit of B.L.U.E."

Message to Students and Parents/Guardians: Cell Phone Use Policy Reminder
As we continue our academic journey together, we want to remind everyone of our cell phone use policy at Otay Ranch High School. To maintain a focused learning environment, cell phones should be turned off and stored away during class time, unless specifically permitted by your classroom teacher. This policy helps minimize distractions and supports our commitment to LEARNIG and academic excellence.
This policy is an essential part of upholding our core values of BLUE: Belonging, Learning, Unity, and Empathy. By following the cell phone policy, students demonstrate a commitment to their LEARNING and respect for the educational environment.
Students are allowed to use their phones during passing periods and lunch, but during instructional time, phones should not be visible or in use.
Remember, staying focused in class not only benefits your own learning but also supports the unity and belonging of our entire school community. Let's work together to create a space where everyone can thrive academically and feel valued.

Mustangs,
To increase our efforts in ensuring the safety of our campus, we began issuing student parking permits at the ASB Finance windows (the ones that face the main office).
In order to get a parking permit, you will need to fill out the following registration form: Parking Permit Registration
(You must sign in with your Student Google Account)
After the form is completely filled out, you may come to the Finance windows and show your Valid Driver License. You will then be issued a parking permit that must be hung on your rear view mirror anytime you park on campus.
After a two week grace period, any car parked in student parking lots without a student parking permit will be subject to be being towed at the owner’s expense.
If you have any questions please let me know.
Thank you,
