Important Action Item: Impact Aid Forms
Did you complete the Impact Aid form in HAC last fall?
If not, Online Federal Impact Aid Forms are still available through the Home Access Center (HAC). Once logged in, directions to access the online Impact Aid form can be found HERE. A video with instructions is available HERE. The form can now be accessed in Spanish by clicking on the Globe in the top right-hand corner once the form has been started.
Our schools are heavily impacted by federally connected students. Federally connected students are those students whose parent(s)/guardian(s) work on federal property in Maryland, live on federal property in Maryland, and/or are active-duty military personnel. Because of this impact, we receive federal grant funds to operate and maintain our schools and enrich school programs. To receive these funds, the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) requires us to survey each student to determine eligibility.
If you already completed this important action item, thank you!
February PBIS Theme: Kindness
Each month, our PBIS committee selects a theme to support the development of the whole child—fostering not just academic growth, but also social and emotional well-being. These themes help reinforce positive behaviors and values that create a strong, supportive school community.
February’s focus is kindness, encouraging students to show compassion, empathy, and respect in their daily interactions.
Ask your child: "What’s a small act of kindness you can do for a classmate, teacher, or family member this week?"
Encourage your student to think about how even simple gestures—like a smile, a kind word, or helping someone—can make a big difference!

LMDES Security Vestibule
The safety of our students, staff, and school community is our top priority!
The next time you visit our building, you'll notice our new security vestibule, designed to enhance safety and streamline our check-in process.
All visitors will be required to check-in with 100% ID verification, and student sign-in and sign-out procedures will take place within this secure space. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our school safe!

LMDES School-Wide Expectations
Lettie Marshall Dent Elementary is a Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) School.
We encourage you to ask your child about "Dolphin Dollars" and our LMDES Schoolwide Expectations!
Bus Safety & Expectations
Please take a few moments to view the video below and review the Student Rules for Transportation with your student(s). Student safety on the bus is the shared responsibility of students, parents, bus drivers, and the school.
Regularly reviewing bus expectations with your student will help ensure a safe ride to and from school each day. Riding the bus is a privilege; it takes all of us to safely transport our students each day. Thank you for your support!
