A Special Visit to SKG
We had the pleasure of hosting Superintendent Dr. Calvin J. Watts, GCPS BOE Chairman Mr. Steve Knudsen, and former GCPS Board Member Mr. Everton Blair today. They were warmly welcomed by our student leaders and enjoyed an engaging, student-led conversation about the Seckinger Standard. They also participated in AI enhanced reading interventions in our GOC classroom, observed an AI discussion in our Concepts of AI class, and Dr. Watts had the opportunity to test a student-engineered chair made entirely of cardboard. It was a fantastic day at SKG!

Hispanic Heritage Month at the Library
From September 15 to October 15 annually, we recognize the positive impact that Hispanic Americans have had on the country. While it might seem strange that this month of celebration begins mid-way through the month, this is due to seven nations celebrating their independence during the first week of Hispanic Heritage Month. September 15th is the Independence Day of Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and El Salvador. September 16 is the Independence Day of Mexico, and September 18 is Chile’s Independence Day. Join the GCPL as they celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at the Buford- Sugar Hill Branch: 2100 Buford Hwy NE, Buford, GA 30518. See more information using the following link:
