Clubs are forming and holding their first meetings. Students should listen to the morning announcements or see the posted announcements on Canvas for club meetings, dates, and times. Below are a few of the clubs' meetings.

Vote Every Day Until September 12! The Annual Review Journal Best in Las Vegas survey is now accepting votes and LVA is nominated for best high school. Let everyone know that LVA is the best by voting at https://www.votebolv.com/. You can vote every day through September 12!

Students needing additional assistance in math, science or English may attend after-school tutoring. Students are eligible to take the late bus home if attending tutoring. See the Student Success Office in Main for information on taking a late bus.

All enrolled students at CEP schools are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch every day at no charge during the 2024–2025 school year. No further action is required on your part. Your child(ren) will be able to participate in these meal programs without needing to pay a fee or submit a meal application. Please note that while breakfast and lunch will be free of charge, any à la carte items will require payment.

All Clark County School District (CCSD) schools are equipped with life-saving tools for specific emergencies. These tools are provided to schools to help students and staff feel safe. These include:

• Automated External Defibrillators (AED)

• Epinephrine (Epi-Pens)

• Naloxone nasal spray (NARCAN)

• Stop the Bleed Kits

After determining the need to use any of these tools, emergency medical personnel are contacted for continued care of the impacted person while staff are addressing the emergency.

Magnet Schools of America wants to hear from you! Share your perspective on attending one of the top performing arts magnet schools. Let magnet school teachers, administrators, and students from across the country hear what your school life is at LVA. Check with your teachers or visit the Development Office, M26, [across from the counseling office] for more information or assistance.

Parent/guardian volunteers are needed throughout the year to assist with chaperoning, events, setting up special activities, and more. Please add your name to volunteer and support LVA students. Contact about events throughout the year allows volunteers to choose the times and events to fit their schedule. Use the QR code to sign up! Even in the hot weather, students made the best of the First Friday in September with Otterpops, games, dance music, and a fantastic performance by Mariachi!

Meet with college representatives to ask questions and learn more about various programs and opportunities. The representative can answer questions about degree programs, student life on campus, and scholarship opportunities. Students should register through their Naviance account or visit the Counseling Office. Check the Weekly Update for upcoming college visits.

Seniors, keep up with essential college information and application tips with the College and Career Center Update. The update includes need-to-know deadlines and info on admission testing, college fairs, work opportunities, scholarships, and HCBU links. Visit https://secure.smore.com/n/0aj25

Seniors MUST have their photo taken with Cashman in order for it to be in the yearbook. Cashman has a basic yearbook package that is very reasonable if students want to use a private photographer for everything else, but LVA cannot accept and publish photos from other studios.
