March 6, 2025: Screenagers - Under the Influence
This film explores the role of substance use and abuse in the life of teens, and is a resource for trusted adults such as counselors, family, friends, coaches and parents to support teens as they navigate the presence of substances in our society, and understand what substances can do to their emotional and physical well-being. This film will also help adults empower teens to make healthy and informed decisions. Viewing will be held at Franklin High School - MP Room (6400 Whitelock Parkway, Elk Grove) from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.

Spring Picture Day is coming, save the date!
- 7th Grade students will take Spring Pictures during their Math or Bridge classes on Thursday, March 7th. Families can preorder pictures at lifetouch.com using code NPTSNMTVE.
- 8th Grade students will take Promotion Pictures on Tuesday, April 8th. These photos will be printed on student's promotion certificates. The preorder code for Promotion pictures will be sent home before Promotion pictures.
8th GRADE PROMOTION
Toby Johnson 8th grade promoting students will be celebrated with a promotion ceremony on Thursday, May 29, 2025. The ceremony will take place in the Franklin High School Gym. Ceremonies will be held by team. Mark your calendar and keep an eye on your email, more information will be sent home in the coming weeks.

STUDENT OF THE MONTH
February Student of the Month is Thursday 3/6. Invites & certificates will be given to students by tier teachers. Students who earned student of the month will be able to fill a bag with treats at our Candy Buffet.
TOBY TUESDAY
The first Tuesday of every month is Toby Tuesday (our dine-out day)! Help support Toby by dining at PANDA EXPRESS between 9:30 AM and 10:30 PM. Do not forget to tell them you are with Toby and we will get a portion of the profits. Bring your receipt to MC6 the next day at lunch for a prize! Order in person, on the app, or online using fundraiser code 378873 .

PBIS FOCUS
We will continue to teach and reinforce our 4 core values in all locations on campus with a specific focus on respect. PBIS lessons will focus on maintaining a positive or neutral attitude, remembering that all behaviors have an appropriate Time & Place, and treating others the way you want to be treated. Teachers will reward students who are meeting our core values by handing out Jag Swag. Families can continue the conversation at home by talking about the importance of respect at home and in the community.
JAG SWAG PULL
This week we will have a Jag Swag Pull on Friday morning during TJTV. This week’s reward will be a certificate for a FREE MEAL from Raising Canes! Students who are pulled will receive 1 certificate for themselves and 1 to share with a friend.

ATHLETIC CLEARANCE applications are now accepted for the 2024-2025 Academic Year. Parents/Students must use the Home Campus website to complete the application. A new online Athletic Clearance is needed every academic year.

It’s official!! EGUSD School Board adopted Resolution 55 declaring March 2025 as Disability Awareness Month!

Varsity Tutors for Schools
Elk Grove Unified is pleased to announce an exciting partnership with Varsity Tutors for Schools, a leading platform for live online tutoring at no cost to EGUSD students and families. When students need help with homework or are struggling to solve a problem, they can immediately chat with a tutor, 24/7, to get the help they need. Students can take practice tests and follow personal lesson plans for guided self-study. They can also sign up for expert-led live classes, and learn subjects like geometry, middle school math, elementary school reading and more, alongside their peers. The Varsity Tutors for School platform is now visible in the EGUSD student portal.
Empowered Parents (English Parent/Caregiver Workshop & Support Series)
This is a six-week program for English-speaking parents and caregivers, focusing on topics such as setting boundaries, discipline, connection, communication, coping skills, self-care, anxiety, and depression. Sessions will be held at Batey Elementary on January 15 and 29, February 5 and 19, and March 5 and 12, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
