Mattos Family Update
August 26, 2024
Drop Off Procedures Improving- THANK YOU!
Final Week of August at Mattos
It's already the last week of August and that means Back to School Night! This is an adult only night where your child's teacher will formally introduce themselves, review curriculum and priority standards, S.O.A.R. expectations, homework policy and more! It's a 30 minute presentation that goes fast, so please arrive on time (see flier below). Again, this is for adults only as the information pertains to parents/guardians only and space is limited in each classroom. Room 19 and kinder families will have Back to School Night on another date (see PSQ messages).
I hope you will join me @ 6:00 p.m. in the MUR as I officially welcome everyone to the 24-25 school year. Our amazing PTA (you will hear me say that A LOT this year) will have their first Association meeting of the year. Members of the Association will be voting on this year's budget, which I've closely collaborated with the PTA on. We look forward to showing you the spending plans for the year.
Also on Tuesday night is our first Book Faire of the school year. This annual event occurs in our library under direction of Ms. Kim, our wonderful librarian. All parents/guardians are welcome to stop by on Tuesday evening to shop. Proceeds from sales benefit the Mattos library.
Updates and Reminders:
*Drop off and pick is only allowed in our main office loop. Please use the crosswalk when crossing Farwell Drive! Safety Patrol will start soon! We need parent volunteers to assist in the front of the school before school from 8:10-8:25 a.m. Click here if you can help!
*August 30th: S.O.A.R. Assembly and S.A.M. Ticket Raffle
*September 2: Labor Day (No School)
*Let the office know if there are any changes in address, contact information, etc.
*If your child is going to be late or absent please email hliu@fusdk12.net. Ginger, our Office Assistant, will record the tardy or absence appropriately. Miss Ginger is also the point person on campus for Independent Study contracts if you and interested in one for a long period of absence. However, everyday at school matters, and I hope you will ensure good attendance all year long!
Looking forward to seeing many of you tomorrow night!
