VOTERS OVERWHELMINGLY APPROVE FY26 BUDGET
On behalf of the school board and administration, Superintendent Adam Bunting and Board Chair Meghan Metzler share their gratitude for the overwhelming support of CVSD’s FY26 budget in a joint letter. “With this budget, CVSD will continue to innovate and provide a high-quality educational journey for students that honors identity, forges connection, develops proficiency, and fosters direction,” they wrote. Dear CCS Community,
It’s been a busy week, and you’ve likely seen some of that reflected in recent communications. In addition to sharing a few more celebrations later in this newsletter, I want to revisit a few important updates:
Bus Update: CCS will return to five buses (up from the current four) starting Monday, March 10. A detailed message about this change was sent out yesterday, so please refer to that for full details.
Water Testing: Like all schools, CCS recently had every water tap tested, as required by Act 66. I heard from a few people that our initial communication didn’t fully address their questions. If you’re looking for more information, I’ve shared a follow-up that summarizes what I shared with those who reached out. I hope it provides the clarity you need.
Safety & Awareness Communication: Yesterday’s message about safety and awareness was a difficult one to write. I knew it might not resonate the same way for everyone, but I felt it was important to communicate openly. I want you to know that I take all perspectives seriously and have reached out to those who shared concerns to continue the conversation. My door is always open, and while scheduling may take some coordination, I welcome the opportunity to listen, reflect, and discuss how we support our students and community every day.
I also want to share some news about leadership at CCS. Shortly after I stepped into this role on January 1, the CVSD central office leadership team let Beth and me know that both the principal and assistant principal positions would be posted to hire for the 2025-26 school year and beyond. This is part of a standard process to ensure a full, open, and thorough hiring approach.
I had the opportunity to inform staff about this in advance, but I also want to share this news with you. The postings went up yesterday, and both Beth and I plan to apply to continue the important work happening here. I thought it would be important for you to know that the positions are posted and our intentions.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend—enjoy these final moments of winter as we look ahead to spring!
All the best,
Tim O’Leary, CCS Principal
