Let's finish Kindergarten strong!
We are busy, busy, busy here at school. Let's finish strong and keep working on all these goals! From letters, to numbers, to mathematics, to language arts- here is a break down of all the things we would love to see mastered by the end of the year. Below are the high frequency words for all three quarters.
We know there are a lot of goals and a lot of things to learn in Kindergarten! Growth Mindset is a way to tackle a challenge with a positive attitude. Developing a growth mindset is so important as it means having the confidence you will need to make it through. You may make mistakes but even a mistake is an opportunity to learn. It is important to remember for both ourselves and our children... challenges and mistakes help us all learn! Always remember all the things your child CAN do and don't just focus on the things they cannot do! Try flipping the script on your child when they are having a hard time and say "I can't do this!!!" Tell them, "You can't do it YET!" They will get there. The most important thing is to not give up and keep trying! No one is good at something the first time we try it... you have to try, try, and try again. Having a growth mindset helps your child get prepared for the challenges. If we couple this with hard work and GRIT and your child will be eager to learn new things!
Graduation Pictures!
All Kindergarteners and Brickie Kidz Preschoolers will be taking Graduation pictures on Thursday April 20th. Graduation pictures are coming up soon. Everyone will have their picture taken.
Envelopes for a panoramic picture also went home. This is a giant picture with all of the ELC students together. That won’t happen again until 2035 when they graduate high school! If you are interested, please return it with payment no later than Thursday, April 20th. Just like previous pics this year- You can pre-order with the order form or you will be able to preview their photos via text message or email from Classic Photo and make your orders then. There will be a graduation picture make-up day on April 27th. This date is for children who were absent. There will be NO RETAKES on this photo.
Can you believe 1st grade is right around the corner?!?
Raffle Tickets went home on Monday 4/10!
We sent home raffle tickets on Monday 4/10 for a raffle that benefits our Building Brickies program. We would love if everyone was able to participate and sell the 12 tickets sent home with them. However, if you are not able to participate- please just leave the envelope in your child's folder and stick a little note on it that says "Not Participating" so we know to take them out of their folders.
If you are participating, once your tickets are sold send the payment and stubs back in the envelope that is provided. If you want to join the 24 club, please let your child's teacher know that you would like to get 12 more tickets.
All stubs and money will be due back by 4/28/23. Thanks in advance for your participation!!
