This is our last newsletter before the end of the school year! We will send out one more newsletter after graduation! In our June newsletter, we will include pictures from Grandparents Day, the Awards Ceremony, Graduation, and more!
In this newsletter, you will find photos and updates along with the semester test schedules for 7-12 and many other details, schedules, and information about these last busy weeks on the school year!

Senior Salute!
Our DLBHS Seniors spent Monday, 4.29.24 together under the guidance of Mr. Medalen to have fun and celebrate their senior year. The day ended with a visit to the elementary school, where the seniors, in caps and gowns were greeted and celebrated by students and staff!

Elementary Updates!
Math Meet -
DLB students in grades 3-6 participated in Math Meet on April 26 if they were selected. There were five or six students selected by taking a qualifying test in each grade level and they had practices a day a week for over a month. Overall our 3-6 Math Meet team placed 1st place!
Our 3rd grade team placed 2nd in the grade level. 3rd grade place winners were Hope A. (5th) and Cole W. (2nd). The six team members were Hope A., Bo C., Paige G., Knox R., Cole W., and Keisyn F.
Our 4th grade team placed 2nd, too. Place winners included Jaylen A. (6th), Brooklyn Q. (5th), Jordan B. (4th), and Liam A. (3rd). The team members were Jordan B., Anna D., Esme B., Brooklyn Q., and Jaylen A.
Our 5th grade team placed 1st! Place winners were Graham Boling (2nd) and Brycen K (1st for the 3rd year)! The team included Lewis W., Asher W., Brayden K., Graham B., Brycen K. and Henry O.
Our 6th grade team placed 1st, too! Place winners were Memphis M. (6th), Braxton S. (2nd), and Sadie H. (1). Team members were Sadie H., Memphis M., Braxton S., Ashlyn N., Brooklyn D., and Emaree R.
Band Music Festival
5th and 6th grade went to Mohall on Friday, April 26 for a Music Festival. Congratulations to the students who competed! The ratings were outstanding for all participants in solos, small ensembles, and full band! Those who received a Superior rating in solos and blue ribbons were Zoey D., Laila A., Temperence H., Taylor C., and Gracelynn T.. Those who received an Excellent rating in solos and red ribbons were Jaxon P., Caden J., and Emily N. Our small ensembles played wonderfully and received ratings of Superior and Excellent! Both of the full bands received Superior ratings!
Field Trips
On Wednesday, April 1, sixth grade went on their class field trip to Planet Pizza and skating at the Maysa. Third grade departed the same morning to Oak Park Theater, Oak Park, and the zoo. On Thursday, May 2, 4th grade went on their field trip, which is the North Dakota one where they head to Washburn! Friday, May 3, fifth grade got to tour downtown and see what it has to offer and do some activities while there. Second grade went this same day and hit the Oak Park Theater and Discovery Center.
Track and Field Day Volunteers
There are a lot of events happening in the following weeks before school is over, please check out the events below! Track and Field Day is planned for Tuesday, May 14 at the high school for grades K-6. If there is bad weather, we will move it to Wednesday, May 15. Parents are welcome to attend to watch events, if you'd like to help, please click below and fill out the form. Mrs. Andersen will contact you with more information closer to the date.

Has your child registered for a Dual Credit course for next year?
Students who sign up for dual credit courses will receive emails from the college where they registered. Over the summer, students will receive emails! It would be very helpful for parents to remind students to check the college emails.
If you have questions about dual credit courses, please contact the office.

ORGANIZATION UPDATES
FBLA Team First Place Winners
The FLBA Graphic Design Team; Lexi Hudson, Mycah Faken, and Hope Walen, took first place at the Minot State Academic showcase this week. They also placed at the state competition with the project to advance to nationals this summer in Orlando, Florida.
FCCLA
DLB FCCLA students carried out a variety of service activities on April 30th. Students baked, decorated, and delivered cakes to the Burlington Food Pantry. Next, they took time for some team building at Planet Pizza with lunch and Laser Tag. They concluded their day by spending two hours helping out at Matthew 25 Project cleaning, hanging, and organizing clothing and other items. Their supervisor, Mrs. Schiele says, this is a great group of students who worked hard and truly represented DLB!
Classroom Updates
FACS and Art Field Trip
Mrs. Schiele, Mrs. Cool and 9 students enjoyed a big road trip to Fargo on April 24th for the FABO Fashion Show held at NDSU. We then cruised over to Nome Schoolhouse located in little Nome, ND. At the schoolhouse, students learned about many different types of animal fibers used in wool. They got to see a picture of each animal and feel their fur. The students then toured the fiber processing mill where they got to see and learn each step to produce felt and yarn. They ended the day needle felting and did amazing! It was a great day!
7-12 Art Show and Concert
The artistic and musical talents of many DLBHS students were highlighted Sunday, April 21 at DLBHS. The photos below show just some of the performances and arts on display. We will feature the music award winners in our June newsletter.
