A Message From Mr. Easton
Dear Ely Families,
March has officially begun at Ely Elementary. March is a busy time of the year at Ely Elementary School. This week is our Right to Read week, which is including special guest readers who will be reading to our student's on Friday.
Also, beginning this week we will be kicking off our March Madness Attendance Challenge. Please make sure to look at the flier in this newsletter for more information. The winning homeroom will be receiving an ice-cream party on Thursday, March 21st. Regular attendance at Ely is crucial for your child's success. Please make sure that your child is here on time each and every single day. If your child does have to be out, please make sure to contact and notify the front office and provide a doctors note if applicable.
On Wednesday, March 13th at 5pm there will be another PAX training at Eastern Heights Elementary School. The training will be led by Holly Campbell, one of our district Behavior Resource Implementation Coordinators. The training will last about 90 minutes and will give you insight into the tools that our classroom teachers use in increase students engagement and encourage positive behavior.
The end of the 3rd quarter is March 21st. Students are beginning the skills needed to transition to the next grade level. I encourage you to make sure that you are actively checking your child's progress/grade on Powerschool. Continue talking with your child each and every single day about what they are learning in school. If you are ever unsure or have questions about your child and their progress please reach out to your child's teacher.
If you have a child that will turn four years of age by September 30th of 2024 they can register for Preschool, or a child who will be entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2024, be sure to head to Ely Elementary School on Saturday, March 9th. The enrollment fair will be from 9:00 A.M.-Noon.
Finally, our Ely Pride Parent Group will be organizing an Easter Egg Hunt during student recess times on Thursday, March 21st. Thank you for all of the parents, families and communities that are always helping out and volunteering there time at Ely. Your support and dedication to the students of Ely Elementary is greatly appreciated.

Message from American Legion
Parents and visitors are not permitted to be parking at the American Legion West Lot. Parents and visitors are only permitted to use the east parking lot (corner of Gulf and Ohio).
The American Legion will be taking steps to tow cars parked there and filing trespassing charges as appropriate. Visitors should not attempt to bypass the cones restricting access to their property.
