School Council Final Meeting!
Please join us for our final School Council meeting on Wednesday, May 21st at 6:30pm. The meeting will be in our Library Learning Commons and there will be a virtual link for those who wish to attend but cannot be there in person.
School Council is a great way to be involved in your child's education. The inspiration for our STEAM night came from parent conversations at one of our meetings in the fall! We hope to see everyone there.
Previous meeting minutes and future agendas can be found the the Parental Engagement section of our school website.
Lakeland Ridge Volunteer Tea
Have you volunteered at our school? We would like to cordially invite you to Lakeland Ridge School's Volunteer Tea!
This is a time-honored tradition at our school that we are so excited to be able to host again this year. Our school community could not function as vibrantly as it does without your gift of time.
To express our gratitude, we'd like to invite you to our volunteer appreciation celebration on May 28. The school will be providing lunch and entertainment in the Mukluk Gym. The doors will open at 12:00 PM and the program will begin at 12:15 PM. The event will conclude at 1:15 PM. We will be serving sandwiches, salads, a side, and a desert.
If you are able to attend, please complete the following RSVP form. No action is required if you are not attending.
Thank you for all you do to support our learning community!
Nature Wanderers Childcare
Next year, Lakeland Ridge will be hosting a private childcare company, called Nature Wanderers Childcare. They will offer childcare for Kindergarten age students on off days as well as before and after school care for students up to age 12.
For any inquiries please reach out to Nature Wanderers directly.
Be an Upstander Showcase
Students in Grades 6 and 8 showcased their learning from their "Be an Upstander" projects. Students chose an issue to research and learn about. It was incredible to see the passion, creativity and talent in each presentation. Well done all!

2024-25 EIPS Annual Feedback Survey Results Report
The results are now available for the 2024-25 EIPS Annual Feedback Surveys: For Parents and Caregivers and For Students conducted in March. Thank you to all families and students who took the time to share their feedback with the Division. The surveys included a series of questions related to the three priorities outlined in the EIPS Four-Year Education Plan: 2022-26 (Year 3).
- Priority 1: Promote growth and success for all students
- Priority 2: Enhance high-quality learning and working environments
- Priority 3: Enhance public education through effective engagement
The feedback gathered in the survey will help our school and the Division measure its progress toward meeting the priorities and goals outlined in the EIPS Four-Year Education Plan and develop strategies to better serve students and the wider community moving forward.

Class Considerations for 25-26
In the coming weeks, we will begin the process of creating class lists for the next school year. This is a carefully planned and thoughtful process that requires considerable time and attention to detail. We work hard to balance a variety of factors, including academic needs and social-emotional considerations to ensure each student is placed in the most supportive environment for their learning.
As in past years, we will not be taking classroom or teacher requests. Thank you for your understanding as we work to create a positive and productive learning environment for all students.
Fire Season
Spring has started out as a very dry season and unfortunately, weâre seeing grassfires in nearby areas. Although we havenât had fires close to the school to date, circumstances can shift quickly and we need to be prepared to deal with the situation should it arise.
We understand parents and caregivers have concerns about studentsâ health and wellbeing due to the unpredictability of wildfires, and I wanted to reach out to let you know about the contingency plans we have in place.
¡ To keep air quality at healthy levels, air intake system is adjusted as needed to avoid bringing smoke into the building. When the air quality is poor outside, school administrators will initiate a âshelter in placeâ and keep students and staff indoors during the school day.
¡ School administrators monitor the situation through emergency alerts and information from Alberta Fire and other agencies. If we receive word the school community may be at risk due to proximity to the fire, the school will evacuate students and staff to a safe location.
¡ Lakeland Ridge School, like all EIPS schools, has a detailed evacuation plan to follow should emergency officials inform us that we must leave. If that happens, EIPS will contact you directly via both phone and email on its emergency channel.
¡ Staff and students will be transported via bus and taken to an emergency evacuation centre located a safe distance away, where a controlled release of students to their parents and caregivers will take place.
¡ IMPORTANT: If you receive notice the school is evacuating, DO NOT come to the school to try and pick up your child. During an evacuation, staff must focus on ensuring all students are accounted for and safely on busesâthey cannot manage the release of students from the school at the same time. Additional traffic and people coming to the school could also jeopardize the effectiveness of the evacuation and compromise the overall safety of the school community.
