I hope that you had a great weekend! Here is the student bulletin. This Friday is a Monday/Wednesday schedule.
All students are invited to the school wide back to school dance held at Rancho Pico this Friday, 9/27 from 6-9pm. We usually have the entire student body come out for this very fun event. Bring cash to purchase snacks from ASB. They will be selling drinks, chips and other small items. The theme is teen beach movie and students may choose to dress in beach/surfer/ or biker attire.
If you would like to join a parent/guardian book club, please email Dr. Juliet Fine. You can submit your vote for the book of your interest here. We will find a time to get together that works best for the group to discuss the book every few weeks.

USC Math Day -Sign Ups are Limited for 10/26/24
My name is Joni, and I’m an Outreach member of the SC Mathematics Competition (SCMC), a student-run organization that hosts a bi-annual mathematics competition at the University of Southern California (USC)! Our mission is to challenge ambitious high school students to explore their interests in math beyond the traditional math curriculum. We openly invite your students to test their math skills at USC and to create fun, lasting memories with other like-minded students!
Students who participate will get a glimpse of the Trojan life, complete with a college-level math lecture by a USC professor and an engaging tour of the USC campus. Our bi-annual competition will be taking place tentatively on Saturday, October 26 at USC, and admission is completely free of charge. We hope that you will partner with us in our mission by encouraging your students to showcase their skills!
This year, our competition will include both team-based and individual components, with the potential for competitors to win awards in one or both categories. On the application, you’ll be able to choose whether you compete individually or in teams of 4. Additionally, competitors may choose to compete in the more difficult SCMC A or the less difficult SCMC B, but all members of one team must compete in the same competition. Once you fill out the application, we will send out more information regarding the event itinerary and time frames for each competition round.
If you have any questions/concerns, please feel free to reply directly to this email! If you would like to compete, please fill out this registration form by the end of the day on Friday, October 11! Please note that our registration will cap at 100 students so please fill this out as soon as you can!
Thank you so much, and we hope to see you on October 26 at USC!
Sincerely,
SCMC Member, Joni
