The CLA PTA wishes you a warm and happy December! We’ve got some exciting events coming up, so be sure to mark your calendars. And don’t forget to check out the notes from our November meeting!

- Winter Fundraiser Orders: Due December 4th. See the flier for more details.
- Dine & Share at Chipotle: December 18th, 4:00–8:00 PM at the Palatine Chipotle on Dundee Road. A portion of your bill will support the CLA PTA and help fund activities for our students and staff. Mention the CLA PTA at the register or show them one of our fliers. (English/Spanish)

Shobana Kumar - Primary ABLE
Shobana Kumar is the classroom teacher for the Primary K-2 ABLE program. In her second year in District 15 and her first year at CLA, Shobana has already made a lasting impact. She brings a perfect blend of heart and high expectations to her classroom, creating a learning environment rooted in structure and strong relationships.
One of Shobana’s favorite memories as a teacher is when a student surprised her with a beautiful handmade card for her birthday.
Outside the classroom, Shobana loves to unwind by reading or gardening. She’s also a fantastic cook, enjoys swimming, and never backs down from a competitive game of Scrabble! When treating herself, she indulges in cappuccino, popcorn, or green tea.

Jamie Rocha - Primary REACH
Jamie Rocha, the classroom teacher for the Primary K-2 REACH program, brings 11 years of experience in District 15 to Conyers Learning Academy. Now in her third year at CLA, Jamie creates a high-energy, loving classroom environment where students thrive.
One of Jamie’s favorite memories as a teacher is being invited by a former student to attend their high school graduation. “It was amazing to see all the hard work, accomplishments, and perseverance this particular student had demonstrated,” she shared.
Outside of school, Jamie enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, paddleboarding, and kayaking. Want to make her day? Bring coffee, tacos, or sweets!
