Big Kahuna Fundraiser
Our Big Kahuna fundraiser has been up and running! Each year our PTO holds two major fundraisers in order to fun the special events that benefit our students. Some of these activities and events include: field trips, the learning garden, recess equipment and play structures, funds to support fine arts, author visits, the holiday and end-of-year parties, and classroom resources. A budget is created for each year using an estimate of our fundraising profits. This year we have tried a different fundraiser with hopes of reaching families who may prefer to purchase tangible items. There are a ton of items to choose from, and the cookie dough is a big seller! The students who sell 10 items (or families who sell 15) will be able to participate in a Game Truck Experience. The Game Truck will come to Robison, and the students will be able to play games while at Robison.
If you haven't registered or taken a look at the catalog, please use the link below:
Enter 28119 for the campaign ID, and you will be taken to the screen to register your child.
Each student brought home an envelope with information about the fundraiser, so if you have not seen it, please check your child's backpack. Brochure order forms are due back to school on Monday, April 7, and the online sales website closes at midnight on Monday, April 14. Products and prizes will be delivered to Robison on May 13.
We appreciate any and all of your support!
Staff Appreciation
If you are interested in contributing, please send them in an envelope to the attention of Kelly Gerletti, Principal. You are also welcome to drop them off at the front office, but please be sure they are in an envelope, if possible.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! We appreciate our staff so very much!!
Robison Artists
We are so excited to share that five of our students' work was featured in this year's Texas Elementary Art Meet (TEAM) Show. All five scored a top score of "exemplary." Check out the work of these amazing artists below.
Ayona Varre (3rd)-"Moonlit Night"
Ana Negrete (4th)-"Birthday Party Fun"
Sophia Vo (5th)-"Once Upon a Time"
Destination Imagination
This year we had several Robison Destination Imagination teams participate in the Gulf Coast Regional Tournament on February 15. The Genius Collective Team (pictured) placed 2nd and earned the Renaissance Award. The Renaissance Award recognizes those who demonstrate extraordinary amounts of effort and preparation in their solutions or outstanding skill in engineering, design, or performance. The team advanced to the State Tournament at the University of Texas Arlington on March 28, where they had a great showing. We couldn't be more proud of ALL of our DI participants!
Author Stephen Swinburne Visits Robison
One of the many things our PTO funds is author visits. This week our fourth and fifth grade students had the privilege of hearing author Stephen Swinburne's presentation. Thank you to our PTO and our amazing librarian, Mrs. Kubiak for making this special event happen!
PBIS Focus for April: Celebrating Positive Behavior at Home and School
Dear Parents,
In April, we’re focusing on a topic that’s crucial for both home and school life—respectful communication, particularly when it comes to managing disagreements with adults. It’s normal for children to express differing opinions, but it’s important to teach them how to do so respectfully.
At school, we are helping students understand the importance of listening carefully, using calm language, and showing respect when they disagree with teachers or staff. This fosters positive interactions and helps maintain a peaceful learning environment.
At home, you can encourage the same behavior by setting clear expectations around how to voice concerns or disagreements. Teach your child to use “I feel” statements instead of interrupting or raising their voice. This can help them express their feelings without becoming argumentative.
Attendance Reminders
Congratulations to our Rockets who have once again achieved 95% or higher attendance for the fourth six weeks. We are one of eleven elementary campuses to earn this recognition. Keep up the great work!!
State law and district policy state that a student may not be awarded course credit unless the student is in attendance for at least 90% of the days during the school year. The number of excused and unexcused absences are combined to determine the total number of absences. This school year, elementary students are allowed a total of 17 absences.
A form to use for absence excuses is linked below if you would like to use this. Parents/Guardians should always provide a note for absences. Excuse notes will always be considered when evaluating excessive absences.
As stated in the CFISD Student Handbook:
Loss of credit will be tabulated on the basis of days in attendance. A student may not receive credit for the year and may be retained unless they have been in attendance for at least 90 percent of the days during the school term or is successful in appealing the loss of credit as provided in this policy. This applies to excused and unexcused absences. If a student is in attendance for at least 75 percent but less than 90 percent, a student can be given credit for a class if the student completes a plan approved by the school principal that provides for the student to meet the requirements of the course. Parents of elementary students will receive written notice following the tenth absence.

Input for Teacher Assignments Next Year
As we plan for next year, please know that careful consideration will be given to each student’s placement. Your child’s current teachers and the assistant principals will work together using their knowledge of your child’s learning style, personality, and academic strengths or concerns to make the best classroom assignment for next year. If you have information about your child that you feel needs to be strongly considered, please email both assistant principals latonda.mcqueen@cfisd.net AND rose.cerny@cfisd.net no later than Friday, April 25. Information that is considered to be helpful includes information about your child’s learning style and/or personality, as well as your concerns with meeting their academic, emotional, or social needs. Please refrain from asking for your child to be assigned to a particular teacher, as teaching assignments have not been finalized for next year. Please trust that we know our staff well, so the information described above is what helps us to match your child with a teacher in the best way possible. If there are specific qualities in a teacher that have proven to be successful for your child, please include that information as well. We take this responsibility very seriously, and we appreciate your trust in our judgment.
STUDENT BIRTHDAYS
Woohoo! We are now ready to begin accepting School Cash for birthday announcements on the marquee! The cost is $20, and payments must be made in School Cash by Thursday of the week prior to your child's birthday. Messages will run from Monday-Sunday.
If you'd like to have your child's birthday celebrated at school, we offer parents the opportunity to purchase ice cream or cookies from the cafeteria to be distributed to their child's class during lunch. In order for our cafeteria to prepare for this, you must give at least one week's notice. You may email martha.ramirezespino@cfisd.net if you are interested.
We are unable to allow students to hand out birthday invitations at school or to hand out birthday treats in the classrooms.
WATCH D.O.G.S.
Due to our large enrollment, there is a limit of one sign-up per child per semester.
