CES Happenings
Dear CES Family,
I would like to give some well-deserved recognition to our primary-grade teachers, grades K-3 in particular. Why? This year we have launched a new, research-based reading initiative that was born out of the University of Florida. An instructional shift of this type requires a tremendous investment on the part of any teaching staff. It is an intensive, multi-step, multi-sensory instructional approach to reading that we believe will, over time, allow all of our students to master the skills necessary to become proficient readers for life by consistently incorporating phonemic awareness, visual, auditory and blending drills, word work, and engaging with text connected to these skills. Thanks so very much to these teachers as they daily re-tool their instruction for the benefit of our students. Professional development and coaching will be taking place throughout the year to support this initiative. This is a huge academic win for our students. We look forward to the benefits of this program in the years to come.
Sincerely,
Scott Cory
