Mary Hogan Family Newsletter
Update from Principal Jen Kravitz
November 22, 2024
Dear Mary Hogan Families,
As you all enjoy your week together with your family, I wanted to express my gratitude for you caregivers. You show up for your children - coming to conferences and events, volunteering to help school, giving your children hugs as they come home, packing their lunches (or making sure they will eat school lunch), and so much more. I am grateful for all you to do support your children as well as be an active part of our school community. We are a more vibrant and connected community because of you. Thank you!
I wanted to follow up on the email I sent earlier this week. I mentioned that we have lots of open positions. I got new information from our District Office that we in fact have 12 open positions, not 15. Nevertheless, if you know of anyone interested in applying to be a community assistant or multi-team teacher, please pass along the information about the postings. Thank you!
💙, Jen

News from School
All School Meeting
4th graders treated us to an All School Meeting on Tuesday. We had the opportunity to think about how we are thinkers each day. They shared some math thinking challenges with us and helped us learn more about the brain. They also shared their learning about Thanksgiving when they read the book Keepunumuk. This story is about members of the Wampanoag tribe who helped the Pilgrims survive their first winter in New England. If you haven't read the book check out the link for the read aloud version.
Students Taking Action
4th grade student, Brittany, wanted to design a bulletin board outside the library to help promote books and encourage others to read! She wrote a note and delivered it to Ms. Julie and Ms. Liz. Then, Brittany and Lillian, created this gratitude bulletin board. What books are you grateful for?
Dress Like a Food Day Fun
Preschool Pie Eating Contest
Telling Time
A Foggy Day in the Woods
Self-Assessing PE Skills
Buddies Read Together!
A Few Reminders from School
Drop Off - Please be patient at drop off with those in the line. Everyone is doing their best and it is a busy time of the day. Also, do not drop students off in the bus circle.
Things from Home - Most classrooms sent home items before break. We ask that toys and other things from home stay home after break. All classes have tools if students need them, so there is no need to send in fidgets or toys. We have lots at school. Thanks for your help with this.
