Dr. Flowers Farewell Message
As I sit here contemplating my last few days as a Manvel Maverick, it is with mixed emotions that I type this letter.
I have loved Manvel High School since 2008 when I started my career in AISD. I was assigned to serve the students and staff as an Assistant Principal at Manvel HS. I had the time of my life being indoctrinated into the HOKA HEY culture and spirit. I spent four years here during that time before leaving for my first Principalship. And 7 years later, I made my way back “home” as the Principal of this great institution of learning.
Thank you for allowing me to serve your children in this capacity during their highschool years. Many of them, I have been their Principal since Elementary and/or Junior High school. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve your families. I have appreciated your support and partnership along the way.
This June, I will begin my new role as the Executive Director of School Improvement. I am elated about this new chapter of my journey! I hope to still see and hear of the great things that will continue to flourish at Manvel High School. I have no doubt that Ms. Baldwin will take the campus to higher heights and your Maverick students will continue to soar!
We will culminate our time together at the 2024 Manvel High School graduation.
Forever a Maverick
Hoka Hey

Manvel Parents and Students,
Good Morning MAV Nation! I wanted to share very important end of year information and a few reminders regarding final exams, the last week of school, and exam exemption attendance.
EXAM EXEMPTION ATTENDANCE IS VERY IMPORTANT–Students may be exempt from some or all final exams. They still MUST attend the class during the exam. Students are only exempt from taking the test, not attending school. If a student is absent during an exempted final exam, their exemption will be voided and they will receive a 0% on the exam. They must make it up during the summer exam makeup window (May 28th - June 6th). Therefore, it is very important that students not miss school during our exam periods.
NO BAGS: Students will not be allowed to bring any bags the week of May 20 - 24. All bags will be taken at the door as they arrive and will be returned at the end of the day. Anything students bring on those days must be in a gallon size Ziploc bag. No backpacks, purses bigger than a small clutch, grocery bags, etc. will be allowed on campus.
OPTIONAL STUDY HALL: May 21st through May 23rd there is a Study Hall built into our exam schedule. Students have lunch from 12:00 to 1:00 and Study Hall from 1:05-2:50 on those days. Lunch and Study Hall are optional. Most students leave during that time. All students who remain on campus must be in a classroom for tutorials at the conclusion of lunch. If a student leaves campus, they will not be allowed back in the building for the remainder of the day. If you do not want your student to leave on that day during lunch/study hall, please be sure to clearly communicate your expectations with them so they can abide by your instructions. Our buses will leave our campus at 2:50 on those days to return students home.
LAST DAY OF SCHOOL: Friday May 24th is a half day. Lunch will begin at 10:45 that day and students will be allowed to leave at that time. Buses will leave promptly at 11:00am.
Please contact your student’s administrator if you have any questions.
