For the month of October, our district Kindness Campaign continues with a targeted focus on the character trait of Respect, which plays a crucial role in our everyday interactions and helps to build a positive and supportive school community. Respect involves treating others with kindness, understanding, and consideration, regardless of their background, opinions, or actions. It’s about recognizing the value in others and showing this through our words and actions.
Over the course of the month, students will participate in various activities aimed at teaching and celebrating respect. These activities will include classroom lessons and schoolwide focus that emphasizes the importance of respectful behavior. We encourage you to support our efforts by reinforcing respect at home. Simple actions such as listening actively, using polite language, and setting a good example can have a significant impact. Discuss what respect means to your family and share stories about times when respect made a difference in your lives.
This week's Kindness quote was: 'Respect means you care enough to think about others' feelings before you act.' We were well represented downtown during our district's Kindness Campaign Kickoff on Monday. We want to thank our awesome students who volunteered their time: Connor Bruton, Madison Fiore, Thiago Jimenez, Aliza Kamal, Sofia Kamal, and Zara Kamal. Check out the pictures below! #KINDNESS MATTERS #kindnesscampaign2024

ParentSquare is a communication app that we use to get information out quickly to our school community. It is a great idea to download the ParentSquare app to your Smartphone and make sure you use banners, sounds, badges, and push notifications so you know a message was sent. ParentSquare also sends an email to you when something is posted and can also translate into any language. Please download the app today!
Finally, the school has an active Instagram Account that we post the many happenings at Walnut Street. This account has over 360 followers. On this handle, we post amazing pictures and video of the goings on during the school year. Please follow us on Instagram: @wsewildcats
