Friday, April 18, is a Staff & Student Holiday—all Killeen ISD schools and offices will be closed.
Pre-K & Kindergarten Registration is Open!
Killeen ISD offers free, full-day Pre-K and Kindergarten for children ages 4-5. (Families living on Fort Cavazos may also qualify for Pre-K for 3-year-olds!)

Big congrats to Chaparral softball pitcher Madison Edwards who tossed the program’s first perfect game earlier in March. The “no-no” included 12 strikeouts in the Lady Bobcats’ 11-0 win over Waco.
The high school golf season is winding down and two Ellison Lady Eagles — Lynnae Bentley and Reagan Snider — qualified for the regional round after finishing seventh and ninth in the District 16-5A tournament.
High school baseball, softball, tennis and track and field are ramping up as the spring moves forward, and spring middle school sports are starting to get going as well.
It’s busy in KISD athletics, and that’s always a good thing!

Celebrate a month of new life with new early literacy activity ideas that children can do together with their families. This month’s calendar is filled with crafts, math and science activities, and book suggestions to celebrate April Fools’ Day, Zoo Lovers Day, Bean Counter Day, and more!
Theatre Students Advance to State
Congratulations to Sasha Lauderdale (Ellison) and Victoria Hernandez (Chaparral) for advancing to the UIL Theatrical Design State Contest. Their original designs for Axoloris, the Musical placed among the top in Texas. They will compete in Austin on May 16–17.
Choir Sweepstakes Winners
Eleven KISD middle school choirs earned Sweepstakes honors at the UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Evaluation. Congratulations to Patterson, JDA, Liberty Hill, Live Oak Ridge, Nolan, and Rancier.
Band Sweepstakes Winners
Fourteen middle school bands received Sweepstakes at UIL. Congratulations to JDA, Smith, Patterson, Audie Murphy, Live Oak Ridge, and Union Grove.
Dance Teams Bring Home National Titles
The Ellison Emeralds, Rancier Ruby Roos, and Chaparral TopCats earned multiple team and individual awards during national competition season. Well done to all teams and directors.
Save the Date - Elementary Choral Festival

A dozen fifth-graders at Killeen Elementary School proudly displayed 32 gift baskets packed with 100-plus donated comfort items for the Baylor Scott & White newborn intensive care unit.
