PTA Updates

THANK YOU to the 89 families, staff, and other members of our Ross community who donated to our Fall for Ross fundraising drive! We are currently 93% of the way to our goal of raising $50,000. Please know that it's never too late to make a contribution -- of any amount -- to help your PTA continue delivering strong programs in support of Ross and our community.

And, the winner of the class participation competition is....the Amazing Alicorns!!! Their class has won an extra recess! (Participation was measured as the percentage of families from a class that made a donation of any amount through the Fall for Ross drive by Nov 1.)

Ross is running in Miriam's Kitchen's annual Run 4 MK race this Saturday and our team has already raised over $1,000 to support this important cause! The event will drive awareness and raise funds to help end chronic and veteran homelessness in DC. Races include a 5K, 10K, and a Kids Fun 500M Dash. It's not too late to get involved! The PTA is organizing a potluck teacher appreciation breakfast on Nov 22, the Tues before Thanksgiving. Please consider contributing a dish for our teachers to enjoy! Sign up here.

We will also present the teachers and staff with a virtual card from the community expressing our gratitude for all they do. Click here to contribute a note or video message from your kids or your family!

The annual Holiday Tree Sale and Bake Sale are important fundraising events for Ross and wonderful community-building activities for our school, Ross families, and our neighbors. Please consider donating your time to support our school and engage with our community!

The Tree Sale:

• When: The weekends of Nov 26-27 and Dec 3-4 on the Ross field
• How you can help: Volunteers are needed to sell trees onsite and/or deliver trees, in 2-3 hour shifts
• Sign up to help here!

The Bake Sale:

• When: Sat, Dec 3 on the Ross playground
• How you can help: Volunteers are needed to bake and donate goodies, as well as staff the sale on Dec 3

Thanks to your generosity, we were able to donate over 30 pounds of candy to St. Andrew's Ukrainian Orthodox Church! They will be sending the donations to those in need in Ukraine.

The mission of the Ross PTA is to support the education of all Ross students, to support Ross faculty and staff, to foster relationships among parents, staff and community members, and to assist faculty and staff to provide a safe and nurturing environment where all students, families, and faculty can thrive and grow.
