Check out those smiling ROAR winners this week! Thank you for showing respect, taking ownership, being safe, and taking risks!
Attendance
In October we had 70% of our students at school 95% of the time and more! That means they missed one day or less. That is up from the month of September! Way to go Wildcats! We know that attendance in school is a key to success so thank you for encouraging them to be in school. We know illnesses and appointments happen, just please communicate them with us. If your child's appointment can be made on a day we don't have school or towards the end of the day or during lunch that would be helpful to keeping our attendance numbers high!
Seedling Mile Future
Friday afternoon you should have received an email from Mr. Fisher about the future of Seedling Mile Elementary School. As you know this past spring the GIPS district was forced to make the hard decision not to have a kindergarten class at Seedling Mile Elementary this school year. That decision was necessitated because of a persistent shortage of teachers.
The GIPS Board of Education has begun having discussions around the operation of Seedling Mile Elementary for the 2025-26 school year. As part of that process, GIPS believes it is important to provide families with an opportunity to hear from GIPS directly.
Please plan to attend a meeting on Tuesday, November 26th at 7:00 p.m. at Seedling Mile.
GIPS would like to share more information about the future of the school at that time.
You are welcome to come prepared with questions to ask them as well.
Of course, if you have additional questions along the way, you are welcome to reach out to Mr. Fisher or myself.
Our commitment remains the same โ we want to partner with you in supporting your child. We have had a terrific school year so far and our students are doing great! We have students reading more fluently, solving more equations, growing in their confidence and engaging in curiosity.
Every Student, Every Day, A Success! ๐
What is Spring Math?
You may hear your students talking about it... so what is it!?!?
Spring Math is an evidence-based tool designed to promote growth in math for all learners.
Teachers will administer brief, timed assessments to their students and Spring Math will use the data to create customized classwide and/or individual instructional packets for students to boost mastery of math concepts.
Spring Math includes working with math partners, practicing solving problems together, correcting errors and misunderstandings, playing brief games, and trying to beat a goal for improved performance each day. Spring Math usually begins with easier, below-grade-level skills to verify mastery and then rapidly accelerates as children demonstrate mastery of skills. Teachers will be able to share reports with you from time-to-time that will show your childโs progress.
More information about Spring Math can be found at www.springmath.com. Youโll see proven results from districts across the country!
