Routines and Jobs

This is a busy time of year. The holidays begin and we have lots of extra fun this month.

Our lions like routines and jobs. The skills they learn as well as being a part of the process at home encourages them to be more independent.

Jobs allow students to problem solve, work with others, compromise and contribute to their family.

Some jobs toddlers and preschoolers can do at home are:

picking up toys/items

🦁basic cleaning: dusting, washing or rinsing dishes, sweeping floors

🦁sorting laundry, folding laundry, delivering laundry to rooms

🦁washing fruit/vegetables, stirring batter
🦁choosing clothes to wear
🦁packing the lunchbox

It's important to build in a few more minutes for them to complete the job. If preschool size tools (broom, for example) are available, that helps them be successful.
Including your preschooler and all age children in the work helps them feel included and makes them more independent.

🦁 CUB CLUB 🦁

Cub Club offers after school care for families. The students have snack, free play, art and games.

🦁 COAT HOMEWORK 🦁

It's almost Winter. Students will be putting on coats, gloves/mittens and scarfs for recess. Could you help us by practicing this at home?

COAT HOMEWORK: Practice 5 minutes a day
*Fix 'inside out' sleeves
*Put on their coat independently

*Zip it securely

There are 20 students in our classrooms and it's a big moment when they can show their teacher these skills and be a helper to friends!

Excellent Attendance=Student Success
Our school hours are 8:10-3:10. Attendance is taken when school starts. If you are tardy, these minutes are counted as an absence. Every moment is instructional. Your student practices preschool skills throughout the day.
