Calling all talented students!

Are you ready to showcase your incredible talents and light up the stage? Our Salem Jr. Talent Show is coming up soon, and we want you to be a part of the action! The auditions will be held in the band room on Tuesday, 11/19 and Wednesday, 11/20 from 3-4pm. Use this link to sign up. The Talent Show will be held during school on Tuesday, 12/3.

Audition Expectations:

-Talent should be 5 minutes or less

-All participants should arrive 10 min before scheduled time

-Must be present for Talent Show on 12/3

-If your talent is something that can't be done in the school then email a video to Mrs. Epps (macie.epps@nebo.edu)

The state has contracted with Varsity Tutors to help students. Students can access it through Clever and it does have free content. There is also content that needs to be paid for. The district will not pay for any additional services but families can if they choose to at a discounted rate because of the partnership with Nebo.

Through the month of November Nebo hosts a series of virtual parenting classes about mental health. See the fliers below for information on how to join!

What is the gorge?

The gorge is a community event where local clubs and businesses come and support our Make-A-Wish kid. The gorge at Salem Hill has always been our largest attended community event. Each year thousands come together to donate for one cause.

Our Payson Community Center is an important part of United Way’s efforts to build stronger, more connected communities across Utah County. Similar to the success we’ve seen at our South Provo center, we’re focused on creating a welcoming hub where local families can access free educational programs and community events. This includes offerings such as early education, literacy, STEM classes, digital literacy classes for adults, and more. I have also attached our calendar for this semester's classes that go through December 6th.

Our goal is to create a space where children and adults alike can thrive, connect with their neighbors, and gain valuable skills and support. We believe these resources will be a tremendous asset for the families at Salem Junior High, and I would love to explore how we can work together to ensure these programs best serve your school community.

Outreach Opportunities
In addition to connecting with you, I’ll also be reaching out to your school’s PTA to further explore ways we can collaborate and support your school families. If you or the PTA are open to sharing information about our center with your school community—whether through announcements, newsletters, or community events—we would be grateful for your support. Please feel free to reach out if you’re interested in discussing how we can work together to help share these valuable resources with your community. I’m happy to meet and discuss how we can make a meaningful impact together.

Sub for Santa – Holiday Assistance for Families
I also wanted to take a moment to remind you about our Sub for Santa program, which provides holiday gifts to children in Utah County, including books, educational toys, and winter clothing. This program serves over 4,700 children and their families each year, and the application window is open until December 6th. We’d love your help in sharing this opportunity with families at your school so they can access this wonderful resource as well.
